Sworm Game by Angrybeard
For this Ludum Dare i tried to create minion strategy game. Your goal is to gather energy, build your swarm, and conquer the enemy swarms.
PLay it online Itch.io
Im happy with what i achived, but also have alot of features i couldnt implement because of the amount of time left. it also has some bugs in edgecases, where a base or a minion does an unusual action.

I hope you all like it too, and give it a try!
You can play it online without a hassle with the itch.io link.
Thanks for playing!
Future features: - sophisticated KI system - levels - difficulty settings - new/alternative rulesets - new principle for "killstealing"

I love the art style, the gameplay feels right, the only factor I don't like is the camera feels a bit slow to control, but overall very fun game !
I'd like to see that green trees(?) had some reaction on my action (dragging, +N above them and etc)
I do think that having a fixed camera with the scrolling removed would have made the game a bit more fun to play. It *almost* fits the entire map at once, and it would have been nice to see all of the bases to keep track of how many resources the enemy was working with.
Good job!
Using bases as stepping stones where you move your minions as you progress further into the map, and having the resource gathering be implemented as an active and kind of "on demand" activity rather than the usual passive style is a neat and unique twist to a strategy game.
Maybe having the bases slowly regenerate minions even when out of energy could be somehow balanced to prevent the player from hard locking the game by running out of energy, but in a way where they can't still just steamroll the opponents through just having a superior number of bases.
And I do agree that having a fixed camera where you can always see the whole map at once would make it more fun and smooth to play. Maybe combined with a fog of war where you can only see the area around your bases to prevent having a perfect situational awareness at all times.
The music was pretty loud, it would have been nice to have a setting to turn it down.
There is my feed back i like the game idea and i give the "bad things" but i really enjoy the game gj !
(Sry for my english O.O)
The concept and mechanics are easy to understand and fun to play, but the difficulty of the enemies could be a lot higher. I was a bit surprised, that I only won after also taking over all neutral bases (instead of just the enemy bases). The description mentioned a "difficulty settings", but I couldn't find it :P
