Child of Entropy by hanarioi

[raw]
made by hanarioi for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

The world tends toward chaos, but consciousness tends toward stability. You, as the consciousness of a tiny planet born out of chaos, evolves by selection, stabilizes by evolution. Your consciousness is made up of every single tiny creature in the system, and you, coming out of the Dirac Sea, are a child of entropy.

(controls: when in the drawing phase, left click to use the current selected brush on the currently selected blueprint, when defending, left click to place down the selected blueprint, everything else should be self-explanitory) (if you get confused at any point, let us know, we are happy to get some feedback on this project!)

The art work is very trippy but not too distracting. Love your mood overall!

Excellent art, interesting settings and gameplay, I don't know how different blueprints affect different levels, so it's difficult for me

An interesting idea! However, at the beginning, I am a little bit confused about to use the previous blueprint in the next stage and how would a different blueprint work, so I always died quickly  . If we can have an easier level at the beginning, it will help a lot ~ :heartbeat: (BTW, I also have a jam work. If you can have a try and leave some suggestions, we will be very grateful! THX! )

Lovely art and music, really sets a nice mood. I was able to beat a level, but I still don't really understand how the grid behaves. Is it like Conway's Game of Life + tower defense? It was still fun to play, and a unique take on the theme. Well done!

I really like the idea of hijacking the "game of life", but I find that it doesn't work very well. Finally there is no possibility of creating a strategy because the results of the combinations are very random. I also find that there is not enough contrast between the background and the "game of life" grid and therefore it is difficult to distinguish the evolving shapes.
Otherwise I found the atmosphere of the game very nice and relaxing with different music for the levels and a nice palette of colors.

Wow, didn't expect conway's game of life the tower defense. Really interesting concept and really obtuse to take it to your advantage but definitely engaging for a while there although making a fairly small pattern and spamming it maybe works a bit too well. Pretty cool!

Super original game. Really loved it! I feel you could expend on the idea for a full fledged tower defence game based on this. I would have liked a way to tests out blueprints when in the drawing phase. Also a little explanation on how the "bubble" interact would have been great at the start as I was a bit lost a first. Also once I found a blueprint I liked, I kept using the same one, I would be cool to find a way to encourage player to switch/try different blueprints.
Super submission, good job!

Very Innovative gameplay. I did not quite understand how the patterns work though, like the rules behind which it changes and stops at some point. Also the highlight when placing stuff is a little subtle and hard to see. I would guess its inspired by the game of life?

The gameplay was kind of hard to understand. Despite all, it is still innovative, and I like the sprite of the lizard.
