Bee-Gone! by Attala

[raw]
made by Attala for Ludum Dare 56 (COMPO)

You must save your beehive!

You control a swarm of bees and you must scare away the kids coming to destroy your home.

Move the swarm close to a kid to scare it. If it gets scared enough it will run home to mommy. The more bees you get close to a kid, the more scared it will get. If you scare a kid into the water it will want to go home immediately.

I guess the camera controls are easier if you've played an RTS game on PC before :)

  • Hold right mousebutton to rotate camera -
  • W, A, D,and S keys to move camera (hold SHIFT to move faster) -
  • Click on ground with left mousebutton to control the swarm -

How many waves can you survive?

As always the downloadable version has better performance, better colours, etc. If you can, I would suggest you try that version.

This is really cool! Looks nice, camera controls are great, and I love the voice lines. Concept is really funny, I liked this.

The Voice lines were the best part of the game, I did find it a bit hard at times to navigate through the space with the camera at times but solid gameplay all round.

Cool game! Fun and simple mechanic hahah only thing i would say is that there should be a clearer sign and feedback when the enemy is considered "dead" and won't return!

The sounds were adorable and funny, made it pretty fun to just chase the little guys around. Only very minor inconvenience was the low limit on the height of the camera. I like it though! :3

Great voiceacting :) the game is performant and clean in the webversion, which is always nice for 3d games (especially with flok logic).

The background music is quite amusing, and those angry-faced bees chasing people are hilarious. 😂

Neat little game! The expressions and the voice acting is fabulous (LOL). It has limitations, but nothing that you don't know already, and it could be expanded easily. For a compo game it's fantastic!

Great game! I love the sound direction. Maybe both kids and bees could be a little faster, or get faster over time, thou

Great work on this! The concept is simple but effective, and the execution is shockingly compelling! The positional audio with the bee swarm was really really impressive with headphones on - better than I've heard from some proper non-jam studio games even. The 3D models were great for the context, and the audio clips and effects were exactly right. Job well done overall!

I liked the graphics but it did look a bit odd that the bees were rotating around a single point.

Nice entry, I like the swarm feeling.
You should tag the itch.io page with "ludum-dare-56" like others entries, and provide a link to the ldjam page.
I found your game from itch.io and took some time to retrieve it here and rate it.
