Live life as a tiny penguin in this short tycoon game! Learn to fish, upgrade your gear, and sell what you catch to the locals! 🐟

Controls:

  • A + D / Left + Right -> Move
  • Space -> Jump
  • Shift -> Belly Slide
  • Click -> Interact/Fish
  • Scroll -> Select item (besides the fishing rod, items don't do anything, I ran out of time lol)
  • Alt + Enter -> Fullscreen

Great Game! Love the artsyle, the puffer fish reward text is bugged though, says 3 when you get 50.

The art style is cute but I couldn't get the fishing rod to work. Tried all the keys listed on this page and then some.

@sutt00 Yeah 😭 I ran out of time to create a tutorial hehe - clicking and holding on the water once you have a fishing rod should work!

Very cute penguin. Controls really nicely too.

Struggled with fishing on the left-side water - not sure if I was meant to be able to fish there, but clicking didn't work, but no issue other than that.

It's a really cute game! I think there is a notable lack of a proper tutorial to teach you how to play and some more mechanics. Overall, really cool for a game jam. Also, the slide feels fantastic!

The art is really cute. It was a bit confusing on how to figure out how the fishing hook to work, but once I figured it out I was able to start catching fish. Really nice game!

This game was so cute! I think something broke when I was playing the game because no options were showing up to sell the fish, but I enjoyed it regardless! The slide was super smooth.

A relaxing and cute little game. Great job! Even though I'm not the biggest fan of pixel art, I enjoyed the art. I only wish there was a simple mechanic for the fishing instead of just waiting.

The movement system just makes me want to roll up into a ball of feathers :D I love the slight bounce and the expressions of the lil penguinos.

@stesim Thank you! I think the pixel art came out quite nicely. I'd have loved to have added more of an engaging mechanic for fishing, I'll take this feedback on board and see what I can do to add to this in a future version 😊

@Sutt00 oh no, that's unfortunate! which platform are you playing on if you don't mind me asking - also, if you're using an older version, that could be it too - there was a bug on the initial upload where clicking the water itself wouldn't work and you had to click above it, but that should be fixed now! 🫡

@rodgems @firefalls those definitely sound like bugs! I'll need to look into that 🫡

Very fun game to play and keep upgrading the rod. I loved the art style for everything and moving and grooving all over the map

Such a cute game @nevercade. The art is really awesome. The game is simple, fun, and relaxing. I loved it. Of course there's no much to do, bu I enjoyed chilling with my penguins friends. Sliding is such a good idea, it make every action cooler ! If there are fex improvement you can think of, I'd say, making the double jump consistent (because it is clunky and difficult to use) and making sure penguins have a big enough gap between them in order to select them easily when the ice is crowded ^^
Other than that, I enjoyed the moment and the polishing level of the game (animations, tooltips, inventory count...). Great work you made ! ;)

Super cute, especially the sliding animation and the subtle squish when starting a slide! I love seeing fellow penguin games :D Immediately thought of this flowchart the moment I got the first rod:

Lovely chill and cozy little game. Only issue I ran into was that 90% of penguins wanted clownfish and no matter the rod it was the fish I caught the least. But even with that little issue it's still a super cozy game and the music does wonders for setting the mood. Great work :)

Really liked your graphics and the belly slide mechanic ! It was quite pleasant to play! What made me quit the game (and maybe I didn't understand something) but I had a looot of fishes but the other pinguins would take ages to come back and I was taking so long to reach the 250$ for the upgrade... But overall nice little game !
