I think it could really benefit from a lot more clarity, things like a health bar for the player, animations to show you're fighting back against the enemies, a tutorial and/or UI tooltips to explain how things work.
I can tell you've got some good ideas here, they just didn't seem to quite come together into a full game.
- There seem to be a lot going on, and there is, but without the juice and design to support all those mechanics, the game just isn't very interesting to play. I hope you'll consider this and learn to scope down, finish core bits, and polish those core bits up, before even thinking of expanding more stuff.
- The player character should at least flip left/right depending on walking direction. Small details matter, especially when they're easy to do.
- The attacks are just sounds and there's no indication of what's hitting what, of hitpoints, of anything. So it's all a bit of a toss up.
- No indication that you're actually busy collecting something, when it takes a while to do. Which leads players to just wandering around moving and not picking anything up because they wouldn't know to stop.
- Presumably building things cost resources - the costs of the things should be visible.
- After clicking build there's no indication that you're building something with the next click. Well, after squinting, there's a very tiny square, but that might as well be invisible.
- No idea what "boom" does, never got enough to build "big boom". Root seems to give you more blobs that follow you? Buildings don't seem to do anything interesting. As the mechanics stand, you could really just build units and that might be interesting.
- Nobody wants to read that much outside-of-the-game stuff and remember it and go into the game. You need to put that information in the game. It doesn't even have to be all that complex like a tutorial or whatever, just text on screen helps a pile.
- It's so pretty. Such a shame that it's so unpolished.
It took me some time to understand what to do.
Some feedback for selecting the build-types could help a lot.
I only noticed the placement-indicator after a view minutes of playing.
-Fixing some bugs and add clear tutorials
-You can throw boom now and see the feedback
-When you gets resources you can see "+1"
Answer a question about the Map @vhalenn :
The biggest scarp in the watch is the Transmission to next map
But if you want to reach there, build home and boom center to clean the enemy on your way, Enjoy!
We will continue fix and make it better, so if you like this game, Welcome follow and give feedbacks!
I'd love to have more animations and better hitboxes to understand what is going on. It took me a bit of time.
I would also remove the delay between clicking and things happening.
Either way, enjoyed my time with it and the mood was great :D Good job
I played both zip and web versions and support all the fixes you've made. The battle system is lacking some visual feedback but I got used to it and was able to make my progress over the levels. Once I reached what I believe is the final stage and cleared the bullets passage the game crashed (see the video);
I feel it should not be that dark because it hides all the beauty and may be the camera should be zoom out more so players can see and appreciate the artwork. It is a nice exploration game with a great mood and lore behind it. All it needs is polish and some juice;
