Wizard | Spec Ops by badbons

cover.jpg

Take control of 3 different wizard characters each with their own unique spells of choice, in order to capture or destroy all butterflies harassing an island controlled by North Wizard Federation.

I don't even know why they hate butterflies, but they really do.

It's year 2407 after all, so no telling how much priorities have shifted to interesting directions.

Instructions

After picking character, goal of the game is to simply find all the tiny butterflies scattered across the map and eliminate them. There is 200 total, so if the bar seems near-full but you can't find last stragglers, you can try changing direction or returning to center to regain bearings.

Map is actually quite small - but the challenge is... butterflies are REALLY small.

I've seen plenty of games with fire wizards. I've seen plenty of games with water wizards. *Fabric* wizards? That's a new one.

I quite enjoyed the hammy voice acting for the wizards, it's quite humorous! "Sorry, there will be noooooo mercy today~"

I also like how you reused the water sprite surrounding the island for the Water Wizard's water magic as well, that's a pretty smart move. Also Fabric Wizard is definitely something new. I imagine his power to be tearing fabric of realities. You could make an entire game out of this concept!

Some things to note:
- I feel like the green bar that shows level progress lies to me, even if I do know that the unfilled portion is very small. I feel like it would be better if I could see a number on the bar.
- Fire wizard's unlimited projectile length also makes it very easy to cheese the game with him. Nothing is stopping you from standing in the middle of the screen and spamming fireball in all directions until all the butterflies are gone.

Anyways, as for why they're hating on butterflies, maybe they're trying to prevent a butterfly effect... or maybe they're trying to cause it?

When a game lets you play a fabric wizard, you play a fabric wizard. The voiced intros were pretty rad.

Simple and well-made! This is my third game that had a lot of rapid clicking... Please just go the Vampire Survivors route and use auto-fire. It's much more comfortable.

when I was about to check what the third character was, last thing I would expect was the fabric wizard :D

Cool to have three characters to choose from with unique attacks. I also enjoyed the arcady style and sounds.

Miraculously entertaining. This game is essentially just slowly deleting butterflies with a static sprite that you move over a giant patch of tiled grass, but I was smiling the whole time and beat the game with every character. You did amazing work with the wizard voices, and there is *just* enough polish to make things feel playable. The bar that shows how many butterflies are left is very useful, and always having the 'BACK' button accessible is good quality-of-life stuff. Overall, great little entry- thank you for making it.
