It took me a few tries till I got the timing for hitting right.
After I think it was the third (?) round there was a night with no mosquitos after which the game crashed for me

I use Firefox btw
Very adorable and I like how easy it is to understand what's required from player, really something I am struggling with in my projects.
Absolutely wonderful entry, thank you.
***slap sound*** *Ugh, darn mosquitoes.*
BTW,I love this game, the only small issue is that sometimes the mosquitoes fly behind the character, making it hard to see them. Other than that, it's perfect!
But I think I've encountered a bug... I'm stuck on this screen in the second level?

And very lifelike....
I had the same issue as @sockenpuppe (3rd or 4th run without any mosquitoe, followed by a long error log, but with Chrome instead of FF), and sometimes the minigame was hard, but I still had fun playing it, so good job anyway!
ps: _"With this Jam being my third I’m no longer allowed to use lack of time-management as an excuse"_
I'm over 30 LDs done, and I still lack of time-management, so I will not be the one to shame you with this issue
The art and sound is ADORABLE.
The wall splats are super satisfying. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I think gameplay-wise my main note might be?... simplify? It felt very slow to get into the gameplay (before mosquitos appear), and I almost wish I just hit space or E to wake up and try to smack as many mosquitos as I could so I could get back to sleep. But the longer you stay awake, the more annoyed you get, and (maybe harder to hit?) Like maybe your 'fly-swatter' cursor is a bit more wavy and inaccurate the more tired you are? (My main instinct was to just click the mouse to smack them).
The mini-game was cool... but sort of took me out of it a bit, and because the slider didn't stop when you hit or missed, was hard to tell when I was successful.
The score could maybe be simplified a bit too. :stuck_out_tongue: I felt a bit like this when it appeared:

Maybe I'm not good at maths. lol
:grimacing:
Great work though!
absolutely loved the art style and enjoyed the game!
I experienced the same crash some others were getting, that after night 3(?) you get a night with 0 mosquitoes and the game crashes. I was using Edge. Hope you find the problem and get to fix it. Otherwise, very nice game!

First of all, thank you so much for liking the concept! It means a lot to our team and to me in particular (because I carry the weight of suggesting the idea).
I am deeply sorry for all the unpolished experience you had to go through... As I mentioned in our [retrospective blogpost](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/billions-must-bite/me-at-700am-finally-falling-asleep-after-killing-all-the-mosquitoes), this Jam was a painful remainder of how bad my time-management and code writing excellence is. But I take all your feedback very seriously and I'll do my best when preparing for the next Jam. Sorry if I might not be able to release bug fixes for this game though, as I'm currently nowhere near my workstation...
Please do look forward for our future entries! Love all your comments guys, wouldn't have the will to work harder without them
Still super in love with your art and characters! Cute!
