EMERGENCE by ccollider
Manage a classified government installation and attempt to contain an unknowable extradimensional entity.

CONTROLS & Gameplay:
WASD to move camera, Scroll Wheel to zoom. Left click to place and select buildings, right click to clear selections. Each building adds to your total cap of that kind of worker, in addition to producing that kind of worker at a regular interval. Be sure to place down your Sample Containers to increase your income!

Made (veeeeery quickly) for LDJam 56! I had to cut so much stuff - a whole tier of workers, all my eldritch monster animations and effects, and the ability to demolish buildings, to mention a few. Thought it would be a cool twist on the theme (Tiny Creatures) to make us the tiny creatures relative to a huge monster, but ended up being relative to a huge hole in the ground.
Building Models are from Kenney's AssetForge (So I've opted out of graphics) Font is FORCED SQUARE

BUG:when you build out the wall, build failed but lose money.
I'd love more of this game, or more games like it.
A bit confused what the objective is but I like the atmosphere. I caught the idea that some sort of Lovecraftian creature is going to emerge from the hole before reading the description
I actually liked the pace of the game. I had time to think about what I was doing, and I didn't feel rushed.
The radio comms babble was hilarious lol.
I eventually figured out what the UI was trying to communicate after some experimentation. The relationship between "production" and "cost" and all that. It took me until about the very end of the second playthrough to realize that the red progress bars were actually timers counting down to my deadline to achieve the request ... but by that time, there was no hope for me to produce 999 souls in the compound :P
