The Noir Library by Jeffez

[raw]
made by Jeffez for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

First try on a Point and Click game. Wanted to take the theme "Tiny Creatures" as living books, but I'm not sure if it is easily understandable.

Available on Itch.io if it doesn't work on Ludum.

Didn't had much time to create it, so the code and the visual are kind of messy. I may have made some error in the grammar, as I'm not a native speaker.

You can restart by clicking the Police Book at the end. There is a true ending, I hope you can find it by yourself, but there is some spoiler in the comment to help you if needed.

Game made with Unity.

Song made with MuseScore and Audacity.

Visual made with Pixelorama.

Spoiler in case you need it to find the true ending :

```
When you are suspecting every character (Lexicon, Madame Bovary, and the Count of Monte Cristo), you can click on Hamlet Body to find a new line.
I've clicked on everything but I don't seem to be able to get the last clue from Hamlet. I found the references quite interesting though.
Nice game! Love the inspection part and trying to find clues. It's pretty cool that the story is based of classic litterature. The graphics and audio are kindof stylish in a way, different for sure. Nice job!
A great little game, the black and white style makes people like it very much
I see, I got the true ending after the hint. I did like the art style, and sketchy quality of everything. I think it needed a bit more to click on and discover to draw out the story, but otherwise great entry for LD.
This was a neat idea, good job on your first attempt at a point and click! The bounding boxes didn't seem to align with some of the sprites, but still pretty cool! I loved the literary references :)
Cute little game. The graphics have a charm of their own despite not being the most polished.
Great job! I like this interpretation of the theme, and I love the references for the books; the game could use more polish but for making this solo you've done very well!
