@i-cam Thanks, glad to hear!
@skaaaza, we're all done, if you want you can check it out!
nice cute cozy autumn vibes !!!
- I missed that I had to go back to the beggining once all the leaves were serviced, took me two fall to read that press E at the beginning
- Best art and music of all of the games i have played so far.
- I thought that all the small creatures were really well done, gorgeous and had a lot of personality
- Very calm and chill. I feel like there is a push in these jams to make something high intensity so its nice sometimes to just relax
- I dont think i have ever played a game with quite the same concept before. Especially living in a part of the world where the leaves are changing color, getting to interact with the fall beauty was great
What could use improvement
- The bee sprite seemed to have some issues with color compression, some squares seemed to alternate almost blue
- on some of your branch transitions (especially 2 - 6) I noticed some issues with the tree trunk graphics having strange lines appear, like there were assets getting slightly displaced
- Your parallax layer seemed to have a few issues. A minor visual fix is it felt oddly tied to your vertical movement, which was a bit funny. It also seemed to disappear abruptly on every branch transition
- It would have been nice to have some kind of UI element keeping track of how many leaves were left. with some of the more out of the way leaves it was difficult to see the ones I missed
- I dont know if its intentional, but if you have a multi monitor setup your camera can zoom out really far as your mouse moves across screens, haha
- No exit button
Just need a button to run~:)
At first I had some trouble understanding that you actually have to use the mouse to grab and pull the orange leaves. But once I got that, man, the snipping felt so satisfying. Somehow it really feels like you're actually plucking those leaves out of the tree. Also the swaying branches when you jumped on them was a very nice touch. Really makes the world feel interactive and alive. I think it's those small details that turn this from a good entry to a great entry.
- great atmosphere
- great concept
- great gameplay
The game creates a great autumn mood, makes you look at the fall leaves differently and helps you relax. The gameplay here is very simple, but conceptually it is very interesting!
Thank you for these 5 minutes, they are great
Just some constructive feedback that I think would've elevated it even further (but this is already criticism on a high level):
- I think it would be great to get a bit of feedback when jumping to make leaves fall off, and also when clicking on an animal to make it go away. For example some rustling sound or a little movement on the leaf to tell me I'm doing something right and just have to keep trying, and also when clicking on the owl/cat it could make a little sound when clicking so I know I'm doing something.
- There's so many creatures around, like the insects, frog, etc. that could feel a lot more alive if they reacted to me in some way when I pass them. The frog could for example look at me with the eyes, the insects could move out of the way when passing them, etc. This way, the world would feel much more alive and it wouldn't feel so much like "walking through a painting".
- I unfortunately pressed space at the very end, when it was just transitioning to some black screen (credits I assume?), but that meant I only saw it for a couple milliseconds. When transitioning to a new screen, it's always good to have some time delay before interactions from the user are captured. This way, I won't mistakenly skip that screen by pressing SPACE because I wanted my character from the previous screen to jump :D
So just to re-iterate, I really enjoyed playing it - great job everyone!
I agree with @rynti about creatures that seem a little static.
How did you record the music?
Good job!
I'm super interest in the physics of the branches swaying. Did you get an existing physics engine to handle that or is it something you cooked up yourself? Well done in any case.
My only critiques are that the camera felt too disconnected from the character to be entirely comfortable, but not enough to for it to feel separately controlled, that the parallax on the background has a couple issues, and that a few leaves at the bottom of the screen were hard to see. For the camera control, I think that either making it more closely follow the player or giving it independent movement in an area around the character would fix it. With the background parallax it looks like it is tied to the player's position not the camera position, and also it moves way to fast when you jump. I think that fixing the camera controls would also make leaves near the bottom of the screen harder to miss. Overall these are small issues in a really charming game!
Сама игра очень атмосферная и прям под тот самый спокойный и теплый осенний вайб!
Lovely game perfect for this time of year. Love all the characters and dialogue that makes a super cozy game! I enjoyed the game loop but it did start to feel a little repetitive without much obstacles or challenges, just more branches doing the same task. But it was really well done! Love the physics of the branches and all the little pixel art animals. I really like the Leaflings and their little acorn hats. Well done!
How did you make the branch move like that?
All the creatures around the level really help sell the theme and the art is very well done.
To give some feedback i think gameplay could be a bit more engaging, i feel like you could have introduced the leaf maintenance tasks 1 by 1, that way I get a sense of changing gameplay and it stops the game from feeling too repetitive.
Great entry.
I was not expecting to chill, and then it happened. Your game is pretty, I would say, comfy too. I liked the music but also the objective: it is something gentle and soft. I wouldn't have thought I would appreciate a game like that years ago, but things have changed and I'm more enclined to play things to feel - in physical term - good. It is a little like a small window from which you can see holydays.
I liked how nice you got into theme, fairy is uncommon idea for tiny creature!
i like this frog!! Gameplay is calming and art is cute
I enjoyed my climb up this tree, meeting with my coworkers and various creatures. There's so many animated characters on this tree, it gives a feeling like it's a real living space. There were a couple of points where I hung out with inch worms and owls and just kinda took in the atmosphere.
Made a playthrough as well:

Maybe there could be some more "gamey" elements - to flesh it out to have more of a game state - but you definitely achieved a nice little time that transported you to another world. Nice game :)
easy to understand, pretty sweet and cozy, loved it :)
Love the designs and the atmosphere! (Seriously, art + music + autumn theme = cozy vibes <3)
Jumping on the the branches and seeing them swaying up and down is soooo satisfying. Meeting the other workers and seeing what they are up to was also great and seriously helped in making it feel like the player character isn't so alone.
Well done!
Honestly, good job!
