Tiny Humans by neanderg

[raw]
made by neanderg for Ludum Dare 56 (COMPO)

Welcome to the tiny universe of Tiny Humans. Populate the universe and make your tiny people happy by giving them what they want. But beware of human flaws and sadness (cryptic right, just play the game and see).

There is no audio/sound because I didn't have time for it, sorry.

FYI: The game is played only by mouse (left and right buttons).

Thanks for playing!

interesting concept, I got to an ending but it took a long time for me to figure out what I was doing. It's a neat project but I feel as if it's lacking a lot of the compelling gameplay in the middle section of the game between placing the humans on a planet and the ending.

I have no idea what it is I can do or am supposed to do here... It seems like you're switching between 3 celestial bodies, and waiting for bubbles to appear, and drag and release them to put them on the celestial body that it was found around in the first place? Like, what are your choices?

I tried to "throw" items from the sun to earth/mars and I wasn't sure if it worked - like the object would float a few seconds then "ignite" or something, burning very bright. Don't know what that means. Some of them landed at the other celestial bodies when I've aimed well enough through "my hands".

I think this game could do with some player information and feedback. Like what the effects are of what you're doing - and indeed, which are the things you should be doing. Guiding players towards them is good.

I think you should be able to click on a planet in the distance and zoom right over, instead of having to click those carousel buttons at the top. They're cumbersome for what they do.

Scroll wheel scrolls too slowly.

The 3D style is quite cool. It's like the little people from that Introversion game... Darwinia.

I get the feel, it's an adorable tiny gamey but is far from complete, cozy sim like this really benifits a lot from nice juicy SE and background music.

Feels like the multistar thing is a bit of a extra (looks cool though), might end better if focused on the Earthy alone but still maintain this vast universe vibe, and spit some time on sound effects, using simple tools like chiptone or cc0 se packs online.

You might want to reupload your windows files somewhere like itch.io, I couldn't find them at the location in the windows link.

The graphics are beautiful, especially with the soft lights and charming style. I had fun exploring it! Are you planning to expand or polish it further? With some sound, it could be more immersive. Gj!
