I like the webbing idea!

Simple game but nicely done!

The spider never reach the corners, so like a true fly I just got stuck there, > 201s

This was fun! The stickiness of the webs felt really good when trying to escaping, just holding you for long enough to make you worried. My best was only 95 seconds but that was a lot of fun! Great job!

A very simple game loop that is enjoyable and brings with it replayability.

My submission is the polar opposite and now I feel like I'm the bad guy in your game.

@bobap  Our original idea for a game looked exactly like your game, but we gave up because we thought producing such a game would be too difficult for us. All the more, I'm glad we did something different and got to see this idea executed by someone else.

It really was fun. I wanted to try again and again to break the record.

I found it a bit odd that the fly was slowly drifting down; but it was encouragement to stay on my toes a bit more.

This game would be much more fun if the spiders were at least just a tiny bit smarter. I cheesed it for 400+ seconds by just **ironically sitting** in a corner

A solid game even if it can be cheesed very easily, like mentioned in some of the previous comments.
The idea is good and I can see it being a challenging game, but at the moment it is choise between cheese or lose quite quickly. Graphically it is simple and nice, the score text could have maybe used a darker background. After a while it's hard to read with webs everywhere, but on the other hand there really isn't a need to actually read the score while playing is there.
The webs being sticky was a nice mechanic, didn't actually realize that I could escape until I read some of the comments.
I do feel like it is missing something to make it really fun, maybe a mechanic of some sort or changing levels after a while with ramping difficulty.
It is a solid working game though so good job on that!

@oliver-day @a-bond @sorro We agree with your comments, and I also believe that the game is still missing something. We had planned to add item collection, where items would appear in random locations, and this activity would be scored instead of time and walls made of net to prevent from sitting in corner, but we simply ran out of time to implement it. It was my first time creating something on my own in Godot, and @frastarlaw did animations for the first time so a lot of time was spent on learning but we're happy that we managed to complete anything at all. We'll probably add these things in the post jam version.

You're right, that fly doesn't sit --- it slowly drifts down. I personally find the slow drift useful in navigating tight spaces! I probably won't repeat the points about the game that others have said already, but I do agree that time management and knowing your limits is important in game jams. And hey, you learned something new, and I think that's a win!

I look forward to seeing the post-jam version!

Cool game, simple gameplay, but it works! Watch out for spawn killing, but well played!

This is a great idea for the theme. You could have add some more to it by adding some laser or sci-fi stuff to break out of that prison.

Good game overall.
