I couldn't get it to run, but I love the description lol

Deepest apologies for that. I haven't been able to test all the platforms yet. Doing the Mac test tomorrow, and also looking in to setting up an itch and putting out a web version.
Which OS are you on, if you don't mind me asking?

Not bad, its a nice and complete entry! I do wish I could move the camera around a bit, or maybe have the camera follow behind the player, since the static camera angle makes it a bit hard to see whats coming from behind you.

Nice job!

You actually can! I gave the game four control schemes on the keyboard. WASD with QE camera, IJKL with UO camera, arrow keys with delete and pagedn camera, and numpad 8456 with n7 and n9 camera.
Also, my friend didn't figure this out, but you can drop food at the cost of 1 DNA, and it distracts the bacteria.

I ran out of time before I could make a tutorial. :_)

Lessons learned from my first LD!

Also, you can use a gamepad and right stick the camera.

The kind of games where u wanna lose to hear a game over voice

The voice lines are fun and I like the little blob enemies. I played with a controller and did not run into any issues.

The game turned out to be very atmospheric, and the voice acting is just fun! 😂 I especially liked the little blob enemies - their design is funny and original. 💚 The controls are also quite flexible, and the ability to change the camera angle makes the game more convenient. Well done! 👏

Promising idea! I found it difficult hit enemies short range of your attack. Even using the food distractions I just couldn't keep up!

Really good concept, spot on with the theme! The controls were a bit challenging to get the hang of, music and art were great!

Nice compo game!
Played with a gamepad and it would have been nice to be able to attack with the triggers or the buttons behind in order to move the camera with a different finger at the same time.
I thought the hitbox felt a bit weird and retry is crashing (at least for me on a win11) so I did not try too hard for a high score and kept on dying quite fast - for lack of skills more likely: I only found out about lures while reading the comments.
Kudos for the voice lines!
Edit: just realising that when you lose "return" might not be a "return in the dish" but a "return to desktop", hence not a crash?

Getting major N64 vibes, loved the audio. Not sure if it was just me, but the hitbox of the player seemed to be larger than the mesh itself, kept taking damage when I thought I was far enough away from the enemies. But for a Compo game, really great work!
