This was...wow. You really did a great job with the sound design, and I loved that you could play around with the guitar. This was great. Also, your ludum dare page isn't working, but your itchio is!

Well, it's really a small game. It also has guitar playing, even though I can't play (╥﹏╥), it was fun to try to do something. •ᴗ•

The story is intruiging and making me submerged into the game, but what makes it better is the art works you have used, they are so distinct and unique! GooD Job and Nice story there!

I loved the visuals, at first I thought it was pre renderer and when I started moving I was so impressed. Very cool concept

The whole game is very atmospheric. I love the shaders and was definitely not prepared for the guitar playing to be so intricate. Well done.

I couldn't really figure out what to do after I was given freedom to move, and the talking did not seem to work.

Poor little guy... Guitar play was actually surprised me didn't expected that. Great sound design you really got that atmosphere going. Unfortunatly web build was unplayable for me because of the camera was spinning like crazy when i move the mouse. It even went upside down lol. Cool game.

I really like the visuals! My only complaint is that I didn't know how to engage the end dialog. I just crouched around and talked to everyone a second time and it worked. Unless that was the solution?

@angrybeard What do you mean? Ctrl isn't bound to anything. It's shift to crouch.

08. Oct 2024 · 18:33 UTC
@codmen4000 Yeah the point was to stop messing around and just be there for Logan :) I thought about adding an indicator or something, but I kinda like it as is, even if it leads to players getting lost. Fortunately it is a small area with little to do so I was confident people would stumble into the convenient spot next to Logan, if only to get a better look at the tv.

Damn I didn't expect to feel big emotions while playing Ludum games but here you got me! That ending :(((
If others struggle with figuring out how to finish the game, there's a YT video in the itch comments that shows what you need to do!

gosh this was wonderful, I don't even know where to start. The visuals are stylized and perfect, the writing is spot-on, the audio... oof, going up those stairs hurt in that specific way. Gathering the gang together to just SIT around the tv is so incredibly heartwarming and just the thing a good friend would do in this situation. 5/5's all around.

Happy Birthday Logan.

Visuals and mood were definitely on point. I liked the small little story you had going on. Quite a bit of emotions going on. I wish there was a better indicator of what to do at the end, had to go to the comments to figure out I need to literally sit in a spot. Guitar player was impressively intricate.

Great entry!

such a sad sweet game! i liked the ending so much, especially the way you get to it. so emotional <3
it was so great that you had the experience things yourself, and not everything was said out loud.
the visuals are also captivating, and the guitar part was fun, so well implemented and so detailed. i managed to save a couple of chords and played them :D but i don't have enough patience to play a song haha
the only thing that i felt was a bit odd is that the main gameplay and the guitar gameplay seem to be two different things at the moment, like i am playing two different games at the same time :) it would probably be cool to have something uniting them, maybe a guitar song playing after you finish the game...or something like that :)

i am touched, thank you for this experience!

A very nice entry! Being stuck in a room while things are happening outside is a really nice storytelling device for a game with jam constraints.

First I thought the goal was getting out of the room, and I was a bit confused by the dialog on the stairs saying we should wait a bit, but I quickly figured out how to progress.

It can be very hard to bring humor into a serious story like this, but you still kind of managed it with the cake dialog options in the beginning. I almost wish that there was an entirely cake-based playthrough that allows you to skip the main storyline (a la Far Cry), but I guess that would be disrespectful to the serious theme.

So all in all a very complete entry, high scores across the board, well done!

Damn, I really like this game, it reminds me of some very niche simple projects that I really like to replay from time to time. The art style is very much to my taste and short conversations with others do not have time to tire, as the game is already over. And you included a whole guitar playing game inside! It's impressive.
My addition - I would like to see something at the very end, some short scene or picture, maybe a camera zoom in on the guys when they are sitting together. Something like that. Anyway, great entry!

You did a great job with the visual aesthetic of this game, very PS2/Jet Set-ish which I thought stood out even more because of the game's setting. As others have said audio design was great too, very naturalistic. The guitar playing is so cool, made me wonder why I haven't really seen a similar guitar-playing system with that level of detail in anything else. Overall really interesting, felt like a very cohesive package.

Someone else said jet set style graphics and I couldnt agree more, absolutley love the look of the game. The vibe had me hooked instantly, it was such a well crafted experience, its not the most fun topic but games arent exclusively meant to be fun they can be a really great medium to share a message and I think you've really captured that here. My intial reaction is that I'd like some more stuff in the scene to interact with or maybe some dialogue options that have an affect on the outcome, but honestly you focued in on the story and nailed it really well so I'm not sure it even needs extra stuff. Really great job ^^

@dyl-k I refuse to believe I'm the first to make a working guitar in a game, but in the last two weeks I haven't found a single example. It's driving me nuts. I might just make a guitar game.

Nice game! Really cool aesthetic you got going there and nice narrative that sucks the player in. The guitar mechanic is indeed really unique. Poor Logan, hope he'll be alright!
