Blood Crux by Dmitry Kaidash
Darkness engulfs the old cemetery as a hungry vampire wakes from her slumber. Her unique ability – turning into a swarm of bats – gives her a chance to survive, as she can only drink the blood of her victims in this form. However, to do so, she needs special energy, which she can gains by slaying the zombies that wander among the graves. But beware when eating: not all bodies in the cemetery are safe. Among the walking dead are poisonous zombies, whose blood can cause deadly harm.

CONTROLS:
WASD- movement
SPACE- dash
F- turn into bats

And also, loved the graves appearing after death, do they really represent each person who played it? If so could you spoil how you made them appear in the game after each death? :D
Would be great to see more development of the game.

I was a little confused by the health potions, they seem to hurt you? Maybe I missed something.
Awesome job on this.

I enjoyed the game loop of having to switch back and forth between the vampire and bat forms. The bat form was pretty satisfying to fly around in.
I think the thing that confused me is that the health potions were hurting me? My HP bar kept turning green (I think from killing the poison zombies) so maybe that was it?
Really solid entry, nice job!
Solid gameplay loop with the shape-shifting mechanics.
Vials are sometimes hard to pick (I think if they spawn on you, you need to exit and reenter?).
Could be nice if the ending would make gravestones in front of yours transparent, I couldn't read my kills because I died behind another gravestone.
Great job!
Stopped my run on purpose but happy with my first place >:)

Amazing game loop. Lots of potential going forward as well.
The indicators for low hp and bats are too distracting. Audio might work better.
The attack combos don't feel very useful and it feels like the bat meter doesn't drain fast enough.
This feels very polished and I love the grainy/ps1-style graphics
My only advice to make this game even better is to try to find a way to keep the score tombstone in the game. So that on my next playthrough, I can see it, and the longer I play, the more tombstones are visible in the cemetery
Great game!
Fun hack'n slash.
Without reading the instructions I didn't understand for a while why I was dying so easily (but who am I to judge on this xD)
Nice graphics and sounds. It was fun to slash through zombies like butter and see past player attemps kill score :) That was a nice touch.
:bat:
About heal potions, they were thought of as an antidote to poison, it minimally heals, most likely it is a bug, I will try to fix it.
I also love a good scoreboard, and the presentation using the graves is great! Managed to get #6, which I will take! Very well done.

Fantastic job!

This is not the best game of this jam: it lacks any kind of tutorial, difficulty progression, UI that indicates score, etc. But it has some things that almost nobody does during a game jam:
- A polished hectic fun gameplay
- A 3d game with hundreds of ennemies displayed on the map that is perfectly optimized
- On online leaderboard that make players want to go back and play more
- Superb animations with coherent graphics
Yeah it could be better, it could have controller support, different maps, etc. Whatever. It is a jam game, and what it does, it does really well. That's a great and original entry. It makes me want to see what your previous jam games were. Great job!
Would have liked a bit more camera control at that angle, but that came down to more of a personal preference.
Would love to see how you could expand upon the game.
Great entry.
This is smooth on the eyes, nice action. Nice entry!
- I think the camera is too close, could be a bit further away from the player, and maybe have some smoothness to it, since it felt a little stiff.
- Would've loved some upgrades and more abilities, maybe this could be explored in a post jam update!
This definitely feels like it could be expanded into a world-exploring-hacking-and-slashing-vampire-adventure game! Congrats 👌
