TinycreatureTrainAndFightGachaRogueLiteBattleCollectionThePreSequel by teonino

[raw]
made by teonino for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

In this game you'll get creatures that you can train, make them fight and upgrade them along the way to go the farthest possible !

Be careful the enemies are becoming stronger. If you lose, no problem you'll get another creature again and again, what change the second run from the first one ?

welll....do you love gambling ? Because we do ! Each run you'll gain money and you will have the possibility to open bigger chest to get better creature but you'll be able to complete your collection wall !!

The white snake and the Golden Cobra are very very very rare ! Please tell us when you drop one we tried a lot but we never dropped one !

I'm not sure the web version is working here, please go to the Itch.io Link below it works on Itch !!!

The .exe version works better especially for the collection !

Enjoy !

Great submission, thanks for the hard work!

I would love to see more meta-progression or collection elements, but the chest-selection element was fun, watching the autobattles resolve was fun with the skill point choice given to the player, and I felt sad when I lost my creature moving into the next game.

Also the contrast between menu and battle music was hilarious. Nice work!

Loved autobattles, but got really confused by the stats, since it seems that lower attack speed is better? But upgrading increases it? Not really sure. Sometimes premium creatures got annihilated in the first round, and sometimes my basic cat just tore through a dozen rounds. Then got a three star cobra to round 43 :D
Collection screen looks hella promising!

I really like the whole gacha/collectible aspect of the game, it makes you want to collect them all. Sometimes getting a pidgeon from the biggest box is also great :D.

The gameplay is simple, but works well. The rogue like gameplay loop is interesting. Although I would expand on the upgrading mechanic. The stats shown on the upgrade scene doesn't match with the ones shown in battle, I think Hp and Dmg stats are switched. Also I'm not sure how much benefit I'm getting from the upgrades.

Overall a nice game! The choice of battle BGM is surreal :D

The graphics are adorable and I love them the bgs also.
The stats are very weird, as it seems like the more I upgrade my attack speed the slower I attack also I lost againts a bunch of statwise way weaker enemies also I could only upgrade atk speed like 5 times before the upgrade went to 0. The cat is also insanely strong.
I played this game for almost 15 minutes so that I might get to see one of the rare one you mentioned but sadly my two bests are just two green cobras. The music didn't fit at all haha but it was hype so I liked it.
I felt like the chest selection was nice for the first two rounds however after that I pretty much had enough money to always do 3-4 50 coin chests for choice even, I'd balance the costs more or maybe make animals you haven't played with playable from the collection page.
Very fun game tho really enjoyed it.

Really fun game! I liked the tradeoff between buying a chest or taking another turn with my current tiny creature. :)

A very cute game, had fun trying it out. Although it has not much progression, the collection aspect is a nice touch. The balancing seems a bit off though the brown bear was a lot stronger than the wolf for me, but that might be rng. My highscore was round 35. The pixel art is beautiful btw, did you do it all in the time of the jam or some before?

@cgraen Hello, thanks for trying our game and we hope that you liked it ! Yes ahahah the balancing is not perfect at all we tried things ! GG for your highscore and hope that you liked the animal collection ! For the art part we took assets from Itch.io packs, we then used them and modified some but wer're not the original creators (you have the contact of the artist in the credit button) that's why we outed ourselves from the art notes (aswell as musics) !

Ok, I played this for waaaay too long. I guess it gotch me. It makes me want more. If a bit more was added I could see myself really sinking into this. It was fun. The stats didn't always seem right though. I always lost to creature that had worse stats?

There is a bug where if you click on an upgrade button that is maxed, it just closes the upgrade menu even it you have more points. Additionally, the Vit Attack button (is that attack speed) doesn't ever switch to say that it is maxed like the others do.

Bears are OP. Forget the snake, it just dies on me. Give me a bear anyday.

I'd like to also give it the highest complement I can give -- it makes me want to make a similar game!

This game was a lot of fun to try, and I really enjoyed its charm! The collection feature added a nice touch, though the progression felt a bit shallow.

What a great game. Very addictive game play loop had me playing for a while (got to round 80 with a light brown bear). The collection is a nice touch and add some replayabiliity. Well done!

The itch.io version was working for me yesterday, but it's broken at the moment.
