Instructions—Please Read!

Your hive is filled with workers ready to go out and collect nectar, and it's your job to tell them where to go—through the medium of dance!

Step 1: Pick a target

Find a spot with a full-looking flower. The tractor has 5 nectar out of a max of 8, so it's worth a visit!

tractor-flower.png

Step 2: Do the corresponding dance moves

Use your left hand on WASD for the blue arrow and your right hand on IJKL for the orange arrow. The tractor says → ↓, so press D on one beat and then K on the next.

If you did it right, you should see the tractor appear in the thought bubble:

Step 3: Execute!

Double-down on those orders (with keys S, K) to send the bee on its way. If you forget this combo, a reminder is posted on the exit hatch.

Do it in style

If you can do all the above while pressing one and only one key per beat, sweet sweet nectar will soon be headed your way.

Need help?

The listener bee will get confused if you: - Miss a beat - Tell them to go to the same location twice in a row - Do a dance that does not correspond to any location - Tell them to leave without a destination

Screenshot 2024-10-08 161000.png

If this happens, don't panic! Just get settled and give them a new instruction (starting with the blue arrow) when you're ready.

Bug Fixes

  • Buttons going to the wrong levels
  • Wonky cameras at funny aspect ratios
  • Tutorial telling people to do the wrong thing!

I liked the jazzy music on this game, it really lived up to its name as a "Bop!" The art was adorable, and the animations were smooth. Nicely done!

The art was fantastic! Although i could barely play this game, my brain is too small. I had to go very slowly through the tutorial and still didn't quite grasp what to do. I tried pressing the buttons at the same time, and one after another with mixed results.

@blue-pin-studio Thanks for checking it out! Don't be hard on yourself, it's tricky! I've updated the instructions on this page if you're ever up for giving it another shot :)

This was pretty fun! Love the idea/twist on rhythm games. I was able to pick it up pretty quickly but I wish it was slightly faster :) Nice job!

Interesting idea of using the two sets of controls to simulate each foot to dance for commands.

This was a great game with a unique and clever design. I struggled 'cause I have skill issues, but the game itself functions very well. Nice job!

Adorable, and I loved watching the bees bop even when I was failing to get to send them anywhere. Directions with both hands ended up being pretty tricky as a player, especially when trying to track everything on the field (pollen, enemies to dispatch, upcoming bees). I think I wish the paths to the locations had been a little easier to see, perhaps the only detriment to the awesome aesthetic of your game.

I loved the game! It's very hard to get it by start but I think I got the gist eventually haha Congratz to the team, it's a fantastic game

I found the controls a little tricky at the beginning, but once I figured it out and got into the swing of things, I had a really fun time! Great submission!

That was so much fun! The graphics are a bit simple, but they are functional, and the gameplay is solid. At first, I got confused thinking any arrow key was from WASD, but with time I got used to it. It's fun to see the fighting bee kill those mean birds, even though I have no idea how they do it, lol! The pathing to the birds can be a bit confusing; I was never sure if I was sending the bees in the right direction. And the music is as great as it needs to be for a rhythm game, and overall, I really liked the game! Well done!

Cool little game, interesting idea ! Looks and sounds great.
A bit confusing, I wasn't entirely sure how the bees would go to a given place.

Really cool idea!

The art s sooo cute <3

I was bopping along to the great music and had fun watching the dancing bee do some serious killer moves haha

The voice lines were also a nice touch.

I had a really good time playing the game! The music (especially the second level) is a jam. It took me a while to understand the controls (but that's mostly on me not ready the tutorial properly...). The art is very cute. One of my favorite entries so far!

Excellent game! Really love that you've fully run with building a game out of bee waggle dances! I enjoyed the more complex path setting stuff in the second level to avoid the birds as well. Music, appropriately, was really good and the graphics and animations are very cute!

Very enjoyable game, liked the twist of directing via dance moves. I got a little confused as to how to direct the soldiers, but that may be skill issues.

Great game!

So fun! I only had a hard time when differentiating which bird was guarding where, everything else was fine. Loved the art-style/funny animations and sound.

Fun game, wasn't totally sure what path bees would take to get to specific places but managed to finish the game. Cool concept and music was great. Art looks lovely. Well done!

I think that was really fun. I've never really played a game like that. You already know my head was boppin the whole time too. I was repeating out-loud "honey, honey, honey" when I switched screens. You know, this game was pretty relaxing and well polished. Great job!

oh this is so cute! I've known about bees doing little dances to let others know where to go, but I had not seen a game about it. The memory, staying on the beat, sending the right bees at the right time, keeping the nectar in mind. It really is just enough to keep you engaged and make little mistakes.

Great job on such a complete experience!

This was a fun idea! I sometimes found it wasn't as responsive as I expected - or my sense of rhythm is off! Still, great graphics and audio and a neat take on rhythm games.

That was absolutely fun, parapa-the-rapper vibe  I really liked the game, but the hard level does not send enough soldier compared to the number of birds that appears :sob:

Nice work, it is a great entry this jam!
