Oh this one is so cute and so much fun! I like having to balance the different statuses by the playing the mini game and trying to decide what to do each day to make sure they stay happy and healthy. I managed to get my kokin to grow up and enter the reserve. I'll definitely be coming back to play more of this in the future (and it's going on my favourites list in splore assuming you've added it to the bbs).
The only suggestion I have is that if you wanted to expand this, having a couple of different mini-games to play for each status would add some variety to the gameplay, but the one you've chosen to use here is perfectly fun as it is.

This was an extremely adorable game! I love how the Pico-8 games look like, and in this case, it's extremely charming. Making my creature happy made me happy too, and I loved when it grew antennas (I assume).
However, as historymaker118 above mentions, more types of minigames would be nicer, at least for different creatures. Very fun game still, definitely one of my favorites. :)

- The key layout is strange but maybe it's a pico thing ?
- You could auto move the action selector to sleep at night, I kept being confused by it being the only one not greyed out, but not being selected

It was fun seeing the litte creature grow up.

@historymaker118 @dhim @dzejpi you’re right about having more mini games. My plan was to put one per different action, but it was one of things I had to cut off from scope because I ran out of time.

@dhim the key layout is indeed a PICO-8 thing but in retrospective I think mouse controls would have worked better.

Really cool little game and fun idea.

Echoing some other feedback that it would be great to have varied mini games per action.

Art and aesthetic overall is perfect.

Nice small game. It's repetitive but that's how this kind of game is.
Aside of various mini games, I think it would be better if we could choose the egg before starting a game. This would make the game more interesting cause unhatched eggs are visible from the start.

Nice game. Cute graphics and the variety of different adult creatures was good. More variety in the mini games would be a plus.

Bringing me right back to my childhood, loved this entry. The pixel art you did for it was awesome. Now its time to go look for a new Tamagotchi haha. Great jam!

I enjoyed raising my little pet from the egg to finish, although I did have one run where one did perish >.<. The sprites are so cute and I liked the feeling of anticipating the next form! I think this was a great homage to the inspiration and is fun and interactive. I do feel like there could be some more refinement on the timing of the current mini-game. It felt a bit harsh at times!

I love the minigame idea to increase / decrease the impact of each action. As mentioned by others commenters, more minigame would be great, but in its current state the minigame is quite challenging to keep player interested.

Fun little tamagotchi game! Very simple and fun. As others mentioned, some variant mini-games for the different actions would serve this game well. However, that isn't too much trouble considering the well-polished state of the game as it currently is, as well as the fact that this is a compo entry! Overall, job well done :thumbsup:. (Also, happy to see a PICO-8 submission!!)
