Join the little creatures living on chalkboard erasers to help them grow larger. Collecting symbols scattered across the board and even create your own formulas!

Every choice matters, as once you make a decision, you can’t go back or change it. The goal is to achieve the highest score possible. The main idea comes from the parable of the cornfield by Socrates.

Hope you all enjoy the game!

For the game itself, I (Utopia) feel it's a bit of a shame that I can't try to make it fully generated. we don't have time to really build a math world. We think doing something rogue-lite will make it more interactive, but we decided to keep it simple and use advice from some tabletop games (like Sushi Go!).

Side note: This time the team has gone through a lot. We don't have artists anymore, one is sick and one is super busy, leaving me alone to fully build from scratch. This is definitely far from perfect but compared to last year a whole team of 6's final result. This one is great tbh. Maybe I will try to add more things if I'm free (I say this every time lmao) Appreciate all my friends who give support and playtests, and I hope you guys love it. - Utopia

Special thanks to Loria for making the cover image.

Really nice game idea, with a simple but deep mechanic! Maybe I would have added a little less symbols and made them a bit more different one from the other, to be able to experience more of the game progression in a short 10 minutes session.

@dabuliaoyidianer Thanks!

@tommy Yes appreciated with your suggestions. There are some design struggles along the way and we do not have that time to set a reasonably perfect value. However less symbols but more unique is definitely what we can do.

I am not smart enough for this game
it's a really cool and unique take on a puzzle type game, the only thing it could really need apart from some polish is a really solid tutorial. I ended up just buy a tonne of creates and it seemed to continue working, but I don't really know why

Thank you all for playing!

@simex Yeah should just make this shorter -_- don't have time to twig this, only 2 days (1 day have class sadly) so hard to polish.

It was a very interesting concept and I enjoyed playing it. Unfortunately it didn’t feel well balanced, and it took a while to get to a place with more interesting decisions.

A very interesting logic game! I really like the genre, so I would really like to see the development of this concept.
I have a couple of comments about the game:
1. Due to the fact that every time the game adds random symbols to the blackboard, removing symbols becomes a very important mechanic, I liked that the price of removal is reset. Perhaps it is worth giving the player a choice of symbols at the end of the game (from a random set), then removal can be made more expensive, while building a deck will have a better effect on the gaming experience.
2. The visual in the game is good. Our UI designer said that it's worth working on fonts and layout.
3. In terms of narrative, I did not fully understand the idea of blackboard and handbook. As if I would like to see more of them matching.
4. I would like to see the development of the game. It would be possible to add some modifiers to the symbols (for example, a double symbol (one counts as two), a doubling symbol, etc.)
5. I scored 270 points) I want more opportunities to manage the deck))

Thanks for the exciting gaming experience!

@pacelin Really appreciate your detailed feedback!
1. what you said is exactly I considered, you have, like 3 sets to choose, and choose 1 set added to your current deck (blackboard).
2. haha, the UI definitely needs to be refined if improves, the fonts are not quite comfortable to read I will say.. we want a kind of feeling that it is written on blackboard but can't find suitable fonts. The layout... yes they are too crowded, and not placed super well (like the next button is placed upper center, what the...)
3. Yes this is an issue.
4. The math symbols that allow to chain/combo together is a very interesting mechanics, and provides more fun :), but needs to be seen carefully.
5. 270, that is a very hugh effort, thanks again for playing!

This is a great game, graphics need a bit love to be commercially successful but definitely has addictive gameplay.

Trying to figure out the best symbols to take and risking the run with skipping feels addictive

It's an interesting idea for a setting but I must admit that even after trying to get how the game works and what things mean and trying to play for a good while, I came out of it not really understanding any of it. I don't get what the goal is, what my strategy for skipping or collecting symbols is, what the rules are for what symbols give what scores... I just didn't get it unfortunately. I tried reading the tutorial texts ingame but between them often going past me before I could read everything and them being written in honestly kind of broken English, that didn't help me much.

Could be my fault but my friend who tried it at the same time, didn't get it either.

@yaen probably not your fault don't worry.
In setting menu you can see the history of dialogue but that is subtle I must admit.
The game should be clear, once you understand which part is for what use. However, it is not clear at first place, I will say it is partially my bad time management :( Still thanks for your playing and comment.
