Use tiny creatures falling from the sky to defend against enemies

abilities.gif chain.gif

This was my high score: ~650000 score.png

The key to getting a high score past 50000 is pressing E when the enemy starts charging their attack at the top of the columns. Indicated by a sound and a orange/red charge. Also permanently press S as it speeds up the number of explosions you can have. It becomes really easy when you understand the pattern there.

Make sure to use every ability - - Q - E (costs 5 life/strength per use) - left click and hover over player to trigger explosions

The goal of the game is to explode enemies before they reach the sky.

Score Milestones:

  • ~50,000 is a decent score
  • ~150,000 is a great score
  • Anything above that means you understand the game mechanics really well and have my thanks!

Comment your scores! I wanted to implement a leaderboard system, but didn't have the time. I'm posting a temporary scoreboard of TOP5 here!

Leaderboard:

1. itsBoats - 951,279

2. Guerrier32 - 782,237

3. Ategon - 751,416

4. Progz - 692,993

5. Sevadusk - 675,364

All controls are in game, click the controls button to see intructions:

  • Q for air explosion - use for longer range

  • E for special explosion

  • S to go down faster, AD to move

  • Hover and left click for chaining explosion

Infiltrated with many of my falling spies and then blew everything up at once. Good job for 3 days! But it seemed more efficient to blow up blocks incrementally. Managed to get to around 180k :)

This was an interesting concept, almost a hybrid of minesweeper and tetris! I thought it was very interesting, definitely there is something here, since exploding the blocks felt fun to me!

Thank you for your submission!

I had a blast playing your game, and my high score was 53,436. The music is absolutely fantastic—it really sets the mood and enhances the overall experience!

I also really liked the concept of the game. However, I have to admit that during the first few minutes, I was a bit unsure of what I was supposed to do, even after reading the instructions. It might help to include a brief in-game tutorial in the future to ease players into the mechanics.

Overall, though, this is a really strong submission—great job!

Great work! High score was 45,673! Great music and a fun gameplay loop. Mesmerizing main menu screen!

A nice Tetris-adjacent little game! I like some of the design choices, like the ability to chain up a few explosives to clear out the board all at once. Moving across lanes became a bit slower than I'd like (which was almost necessary, given how many lanes there are).

Still, a nice little game!

Overall a quick and fun game rounds are very quick, maybe a bit too quick as it gets to a point where i didnt feel like i could catch up. However chaining together explosions was a lot of fun and the gameplay was enjoyable.

Nice game!
Love the juiciness and the strategic aspect
Just wished you had more strategic options in the end game

Also have to say the explosions feel very rewarding, getting a lot of mines to ignite eachother feels very rewarding. At some point however the spawning is just too fast and you can do nothing but press E, which you can only do until have 1 strength left so it's just a race against the clock.

I really loved both the music I have to say, and the sound effects were also really nice (added to the rewarding feel of explosions). And the fact that you added sliders for Master + Music + SFX with a "Test SFX" button, I mean man, you went all the way with that! Missing that in many other games :P

Overall a very fun entry, thanks for making it! =)

Good mix of ideas, could be really great with a few more iterations. Very juicy. It's a bit weird that the optimal strategy is to hold 'S' at all times, but thats how it goes in game jams :id:

Well done!

At first, I thought I was protecting the creatures on the ground from the falling things but then they rose up and killed me. After that, I actually played the game properly and it was fun! When you start, it seems so easy but the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly. The chain reaction strat is the best and feels really satisfying - the little screen shake with the explosion is a nice touch! Good job!

Game blends elements of Minesweeper and Tetris, and creating a unique and strategic gameplay loop that keeps me on your toes. The explosions are incredibly satisfying, especially when you trigger a chain reaction and watch the screen light up! 💥💣 The sound design really adds to the immersion—each explosion feels rewarding, and the background music sets the perfect tone for the chaos. 🎶🎧

Very cool than the game ramps up in difficulty, which adds a thrilling challenge without feeling overwhelming. The strategic aspect of knowing when and where to trigger your explosions keeps you engaged, and the little touches, like the screen shake, enhance the overall experience. 🎯

I also appreciate the option to adjust sound settings, something often overlooked in jam games. Overall, this is a fantastic entry with lots of potential for future iterations. Great work! 👏

Pretty addicting gameplay, kept me playing for more quite some rounds. It was really satisfying to explode the cubes and see the chain reactions.

Overall this feels super polished and well done! I like the vibes of exploding other smol creatures, even though I'm *really* bad at it :3 But the colours and flashy-ness reminds me geometry wars and its great. The art is simple and cute and works pretty well, nice job \o/

This game gets incredibly hectic after approximately 0 seconds. Had a blast (pun intended) immediately, took me a second to figure out that S is the most important key in the game, but managed to play a few good rounds afterwards. I had around 275000 points on my best attempt, had a lot of fun and will now wait for my blood pressure to return to normal. GG :)

One thing I found that takes a bit of the fun is that moving sideways feels kinda slow - which wouldn't be a problem on itself, except the game gets fast really quick. With a field that large, maybe the mouse could help control the horizontal position.

But it was still fun, I even got a leaderboard-worthy score :)

@guerrier32 - wow, I did not know such a high score was possible. Insane score, well done!

@wendel-scardua - the slow movement is from a previous precision-based gameplay loop, and after seeing a few people play I got the same feedback. It's definitely something I'm looking to change in a later update. Using the mouse to control the lane is a great idea, and I'll experiment with that in a bit.

@p0l4r - I thought this would work out well balancing wise, but yea I have to iterate further. I have some changes in mind :D

@rynti - It does feel like E is what the game is balanced around, and I think some way to get back health may fix that. Along with a few other changes I have planned. The Audio settings are from harsh lessons from my previous jams XD

@sharky3188 - Definitely a bit too quick lol

@jake-g - I want to explore chain reactions a bit more as it feels most satisfying. Maybe I'll look into health restoration on combo among other things.

Thanks for the valuable feedback!

controls are a bit stiff, especially on a non-QWERTY keyboard, using the arrows would have been nice

I loved the music! It had a very nice aesthetic, although it didn't quite match the gameplay. It was a little tricky to get a hang of it, but it was pretty fun once I did!

Your idea is very fresh. This feels like a new turn on so many classical games like Bomber Man or Tetris. This is a really nice idea for the theme and the execution is great. I got 371k
