Skyfall by Sevadusk
Use tiny creatures falling from the sky to defend against enemies

This was my high score: ~650000

The key to getting a high score past 50000 is pressing E when the enemy starts charging their attack at the top of the columns. Indicated by a sound and a orange/red charge. Also permanently press S as it speeds up the number of explosions you can have. It becomes really easy when you understand the pattern there.
Make sure to use every ability - - Q - E (costs 5 life/strength per use) - left click and hover over player to trigger explosions
The goal of the game is to explode enemies before they reach the sky.
Score Milestones:
- ~50,000 is a decent score
- ~150,000 is a great score
- Anything above that means you understand the game mechanics really well and have my thanks!
Comment your scores! I wanted to implement a leaderboard system, but didn't have the time. I'm posting a temporary scoreboard of TOP5 here!

I had a blast playing your game, and my high score was 53,436. The music is absolutely fantastic—it really sets the mood and enhances the overall experience!
I also really liked the concept of the game. However, I have to admit that during the first few minutes, I was a bit unsure of what I was supposed to do, even after reading the instructions. It might help to include a brief in-game tutorial in the future to ease players into the mechanics.
Overall, though, this is a really strong submission—great job!
Still, a nice little game!
Love the juiciness and the strategic aspect
Just wished you had more strategic options in the end game
Score: 692993
I really loved both the music I have to say, and the sound effects were also really nice (added to the rewarding feel of explosions). And the fact that you added sliders for Master + Music + SFX with a "Test SFX" button, I mean man, you went all the way with that! Missing that in many other games :P
Overall a very fun entry, thanks for making it! =)
Good mix of ideas, could be really great with a few more iterations. Very juicy. It's a bit weird that the optimal strategy is to hold 'S' at all times, but thats how it goes in game jams :id:
Well done!
Love the game! The game is fun with great music!
Very cool than the game ramps up in difficulty, which adds a thrilling challenge without feeling overwhelming. The strategic aspect of knowing when and where to trigger your explosions keeps you engaged, and the little touches, like the screen shake, enhance the overall experience. 🎯
I also appreciate the option to adjust sound settings, something often overlooked in jam games. Overall, this is a fantastic entry with lots of potential for future iterations. Great work! 👏
My high score isn't so hot ATM haha but I'll def be coming back to make some more attempts :)
One thing I found that takes a bit of the fun is that moving sideways feels kinda slow - which wouldn't be a problem on itself, except the game gets fast really quick. With a field that large, maybe the mouse could help control the horizontal position.
But it was still fun, I even got a leaderboard-worthy score :)

@wendel-scardua - the slow movement is from a previous precision-based gameplay loop, and after seeing a few people play I got the same feedback. It's definitely something I'm looking to change in a later update. Using the mouse to control the lane is a great idea, and I'll experiment with that in a bit.
@p0l4r - I thought this would work out well balancing wise, but yea I have to iterate further. I have some changes in mind :D
@rynti - It does feel like E is what the game is balanced around, and I think some way to get back health may fix that. Along with a few other changes I have planned. The Audio settings are from harsh lessons from my previous jams XD
@sharky3188 - Definitely a bit too quick lol
@jake-g - I want to explore chain reactions a bit more as it feels most satisfying. Maybe I'll look into health restoration on combo among other things.
Thanks for the valuable feedback!
I'm currently exploring a few content/QOL updates for post jam.
controls are a bit stiff, especially on a non-QWERTY keyboard, using the arrows would have been nice

Also Wanted to ask if youre fine with me using gameplay + music from the game in this LDs [score chasers tournament](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/$405421/ludum-dare-score-chasers-qualification-begins) intermission video. (Would play in the breaks of the tournament on my stream). Last year for reference

I will proudly wear my 5th place medal :sunglasses: (until someone steals it from me, lol)

Beautiful and addictive game!
