I think I may have unfortunately gotten stuck at the last scene while walking towards the exit so I might have not experienced an ending.
Overall the mood of the game is really serene and I am starting to feel attached to these tiny creatures. Kudos for making a neat short story in 3D in such a short time!

I will give it another try in the day, want to know if there is more.
Well done, Art and story made me really appraciate the global mood of the game.
You got me on one thing, moving slow while chrono is running, is the scariest thing I've ever experienced. :scream_cat:
Good job !, hope to see you in other jam
I got stock here though..

Movement is a bit slow, i don't feel the need for a run mechanic i was basically running the whole time. The base gameplay feels kind of weird where it's just run around left click on shiny things and right click on the middle thing but it seems like distance doesn't really matter so you can just stand in the center of the room and just look around and click on things. IMO it's missing a bit of challenge or just a little something more to make it really interesting.
This is also probably personal preference but i think there's too much text where it kind of bogs down an already pretty slow paced game. I feel like if you want to pull of the "twist" where things get weird you kind of have to let it play out naturally in the game with a little more environmental story telling. "Show don't tell" and all that.
On the bright side, i did play the game to completion which i don't do for every game so big ups for that. The artstyle is absolutely solid and ambiance was also very good! great job :D
The 4th(?) level with the cave was the first time I thought “Oh, now it's getting suspenseful”, but then it also was already the end :D
Nevertheless, it's a cool project that you seven have put together. I can imagine that it's quite a challenge to find common ground with so many new people. Congrats on finishing this big project!

The game should load properly, but it does take a while sometimes ^^ I’m sorry you couldn’t access it on your first attempt.

The bug where you get stuck with our big guy was fixed immediately. We all wanted the ending to look different but we were desperately running out of time and this is basically the only solution we found.
The point of the story was not only to reveal a big creature in the end, but also to make it an amalgamation of the small ones you absorbed before, ending things with a nice little twist on who is really the tiny creature. The project was a bit big though and we ran out of time :(

Thank you very much for writing such a detailed feedback AND playing it to completion :D
You’re absolutely right on the « challenge » part. We were planning on implementing more things, like some creatures being harder to catch or hiding within the facility to make it better but time is one hell of a foe ^^. It was a tight rope really because we also wanted the main gameplay loop to feel « limited » so the player suspects right away that there is something more. The main idea was also to correlate the player’s need to be fast and chase score / the character’s need to absorb as many things as possible for the corporation. It ended up being too much to do.
On the readables part it’s kind of the same issue. We had a lot of things planned for the atmosphere to assist narrative and both EVT storytelling and readables were supposed to work in concert. I really hope you still enjoyed it despite its flaws :) Things weren’t supposed to be that smooth, but we lacked the time to implement critical scenery elements.
In the end we really wanted the absorbing process to feel secondary the more you progress and the game leaning toward a walking sim. But as we lacked the time to implement scenery the gameplay loop takes a lot more place than it should and thus feels a bit slow-paced.
Overall it was a really fun project to work on, and the majority of the team was actually completely new to jams. We’re really happy of the way we worked together even though the result wasn’t as good as we expected. But that’s how jams work, it’s part of the fun ! :D
Maybe someday we’ll release it again in its final form :)
Thank you again for giving it a chance, it means a lot to us !
