Ink Rebels by perka
Tired of the classic "Once upon a time..." thing ?
In Ink Rebels, you play as a scribbled creature, who was not supposed to take part in the narrator's story. He will try to smash you down with his drawings and hands, so watch out !

Defeat ennemies, gather ink, and create buddies that will make you stronger through your adventure ! Be careful though, your fellows will disappear if you take too much damage.
Good luck, and try to write as many chapters of your own story as possible !!
HOW TO PLAY : Z : Foward | Q : Left | S : Back | D : Right | Left click : Attack

Congrats, team !! :fire:
The hitboxes of the gaps in the floor felt a bit too large for me - I died a few times until I learned to keep a larger distance. The style and isometric view work great, beautiful game!
A mini tutorial for the ones who aren't reading the description would have been nice because it took like 20 minutes for me to realize that I can attack and not just dodge. This game definitely has a learning curve as you need to get to know the enemy patterns but I really like it its a fun arcade game I could play 20-30 minutes of whenever.
The graphics are great and they fit each other very very nicely the music is also very fitting and I quite like it I vibed the whole way through. The Leaderboard is a very nice touch however it doesn't seem to be working fully as my submission did not get on but I beat the last player on there.
Also the movement is a bit wonky as the screen is in like a 2.5D angle however when I press W it literally just goes up so you need to press a diagonal e.g. W+D to go in a straight line. It wasn't too disturbing but it would've been nice if it worked properly.
Anyways very cute game and I really liked it I might sometimes even play some of it on my own time:))
I think some indication that you can also damage the eyes would be nice and that they only damage when you are moving
I might have preferred if we could choose the attack direction based on the mouse, as I find it counterintuitive to attack with the mouse but have the direction of the attack depend on the keyboard. I’m not used to this style of game at all, so maybe I’m an isolated case!
Once again, congratulations on your game, I loved it, and the Leaderboard makes me want to keep playing even more!
Overall, you did a great job. One of the best games I ever played in LD (I'm pretty new to the jam, but I already played a lot of games, too. Keep up your good work!
There are some areas that could use polishing like among others readability of hitboxes (falling down, knights and eyes hits), layers ordering (sometimes my dudes are "behind" the carpet).
I've checked your profiles and I've noticed you are all new accounts, so congratz on your Ludum Dare debut, very solid entry and promising start!
