Your goal is to serve customers as they make orders, you will see their orders above their heads. Throw the food at customers to serve them!
Cooked Snails: 1. Harvest snail meat from the big snail outside 2. Throw snail meat on the pan and interact with it once it is cooked (careful, it can burn if you wait too long!) 3. Serve!
*Wine: * 1. Pick it up by interacting with the fridge, then serve!
Bread: 1. Throw breadcrumbs (which you can find outside) in the oven 2. Once bread is ready, pick it up and serve! Be careful, power can sometimes go off, you can reactivate the generator which you can find by following the cable!
Howdy there! Let me spin you a yarn about my life. I’m Gustave, a country cockroach who somehow survived when a ruthless exterminator wiped out my whole family of 72. With a heavy heart but a determined spirit, I set off for Paris, the city of lights, lookin’ for a fresh start.
When I got to Paris, I found myself in a bustling, dirty alley in the 19th district. There, I stumbled upon a fancy piano bar where the high society cockroaches gather. These city slickers, with their highfalutin airs and perfectly groomed antennae. Ah, Paris, where even the cockroaches are full of themselves!
My job? To serve these demanding clients and fit into their sophisticated lifestyle. Every day brings a new challenge. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder: will I be able to keep up? Can a simple country cockroach like me really make it in this big, shiny city?
But I’m not one to back down. I’ll show 'em that even a country cockroach can shine in the big city. Get ready for a one-of-a-kind adventure through my eyes, where survival and humor mix in the alleys of Paris. Wish me luck, and may the spirit of the city of lights guide me! Here we go!
*Updated 11/10 * Thanks to your feedback, we made small adjustments to make the game a bit more tense towards the end and to make the game start faster!

The game seems to be working quite well. It would have been nice to have the tutorial at the beginning of the game and not just when pressing escape.
Good job!
PS : Vous avez l'air d'être français vue les voix présents dans le jeu, good jobs guys, ça m'a bien fait rire !
First of all, the game looks absolutely amazing, I really like this style and for some reason I love when some things are made as a plane that is always turned towards a player. Cute story, cute bugs. The gameplay is a bit chaotic, but that's how it should be in a cooking simulator IMO. The only negative for me is that the sensitivity of the camera rotation is too high (maybe it's just me?)
Have you tried restarting the game ? Thanks for playing :)
We tried to crush most of the bugs (no pun intended) but it's always good to get feedback to improve the game! Thanks a lot :)
For the difficulty ramping up, you are right - it was tough to balance the difficulty so it doesn't get overwhelming too quickly but also not tooo boring.
The way it works is that there is a Game Manager that ramps the difficulty over time.
After 45 seconds (it gives new players time to acclimate or experienced players time to prepare a bit more), it starts adding 1 level to 1 random customer. It then does so every 30s.
The levels go from 0 (no orders) to 3.
On level 1, the customer orders only one plate. On level 2, 1 to 2 plates and on level 3, 1 to 3 plates (randomly). We also adjust waiting times and time to order according to the levels.
This helps make every game a bit random. I think we should change the values on higher levels so it gets even more hectic at the end!
Anyway, thanks for playing :)

Would be awesome to have dedicated shelves you could throw your ready dishes to, and they would just "lock" there and wait to be needed - that would make my kitchen much tidier. I also found it much too easy to throw stuff into the garbage. You don't want to know how many perfectly good, ready-made snails ended in the trash by accident

Very nice jam job!
Something about the artstyle seems cool. The difficulty seems fine.
(Tho I must ask did this game take any inspiration from the animated movie ratatouille? I can see some mild paralells between the game's story and the movie is all, and curiosity got the best of me)
P.s great game 10/10
Oh and the tutorial menu is super smart (This is some good game design).
@fabula-rasa @obidiix-minusinfinity
the gameplay loop is very engaging and the right amount of chaotic, really enjoyed the loop of gathering ingredients and cooking them fast. I played for a while because I felt compelled to beat my high score. the game feels responsive and very polished, I missed some throws but it was my mistake
the presentation is amazing, love the Paper Mario inspired look, it's also pretty creative with the french theming
really good entry!
