INFESTO by game dynasty

[raw]
made by game dynasty for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

Hello! Infesto is a small turn-based roguelike where you play as parasites. During the game you will have to inhabit the bodies of different creatures to gain health and abilities.

To inhabit a creature - deal lethal damage to it with the "Mind Control" ability

I made this game alone and really want to know if there is potential for such gameplay! Write feedback and I will definitely answer you in kind!

To play, select one of the abilities below by pressing LMB and aim at the enemy

UPD: If the game freezes - press ENTER to restart. The game freezes when you try to use an ability on the wrong unit. For example, if you try to use dog bite or crow mark on your unit - the game will freeze.

It looks nice but I couldn't get anything to happen!
A little controls description would be nice.

You've come up with a very cool concept for the game. It's a pleasure to play, but it's not always clear what exactly is going on

Really good idea for a game. Couple of issues I noticed:
Most enemies prefer healing action even if they have full hp.
Action selection ui requires a click to select, but then only hovering over a different action will change it. So sometimes its easy to use the wrong action.

Interesting concept for a game, taking over enemy abilities is interesting and the graphics are cool.

Very nice art (please, add web\mac os build, had to play it via emulator) and a very promising entry for a one-man team. Lacks a bit of introduction of what's going on and some tutorial around, but I get it – it's game jam. No questions :)

I really enjoyed playing the game! The music and the graphics make the mood so cool. It becomes a bit too repetitive at some point to be honest (I've played it for 15 mins), but overall it's a good game!

I loved this! I usually don't play games without a webgl but the art really intrigued me haha. The 2.5d scene is very nice and it has a good amount of little assets and polish. the strategy part was getting fun! unfortunately at some point i was no longer able to do any actions so I believe it glitched. very nice idea though, the concept of taking over creatures to use their abilities in a turn based game is really interesting! I would continue playing a game like this for sure~ If you expand on it or update it I'd love to see it!

Super pretty game, I like the art style!
Sadly I could not pass the first (real) fight as the game keeps breaking on me and I am not able to use abilities anymore. But I quite like the mind control idea would have loved to try it more!

Good game, I would have liked a more detailed tutorial, it was difficult for me to understand how to play at the beginning

Very cool concept ! Got stuck pretty early (no command would work anymore on my wolf), but I love the idea ! Would have been cool to be able to use the arrows of the keyboard to select each action ; also, the creatures could benefit from a little graphical clue that they are parasited (apart from the fact they're on the left side + green colored portrait) to better feel the "parasited" status.

Wow! that unique and creative blend of JRPG and card game mechanics! The pixel art is visually charming, with a moving background that adds a dynamic touch. The concept of taking over enemies and using their abilities is incredibly engaging and refreshing. 🃏🎮The soundtrack is on point, perfectly fitting the theme and enhancing the overall atmosphere. Great work! 👏

What initially drew me to this page was the artwork and the art style—it really stands out. What kept me playing multiple times, though, was the core gameplay mechanics and the BGM, which gave me vibes similar to Baldur's Gate 3. The mechanics are simple yet enjoyable, making the game very engaging.

The beginning felt a bit abrupt since there's no tutorial or starting menu, but as I continued, I realized that this game doesn't need one. Everything you need to know is right there. If you're confused, just look at the hint! It's surprising and very well executed.

The BGM also reminded me of the good times I had playing Baldur's Gate 3; it gives the game a cozy and nostalgic feeling. Great job on both the art and the gameplay—it all comes together very well!

The game and the idea are incredible! You've really got a great start, and I can't wait to see how the game develops later on if you keep it up!

The game has a great concept and cool graphics, but adding a brief description of the controls and fixing some UI issues would improve the overall experience.

I really like the idea of taking over enemies as a parasite, it's quite a unique idea and it works really well. I'd be very excited to see where the idea can take the game in the future. Great work, I loved the art too!

This game is fantastic! My only big complaint with it is how easy it is to hover over and select a different attack option than the one you meant. Accidentally parasitized several things I didn't mean to because of that :)

But this is really a great project, thanks for letting me play it!
