Monster Tactics
by Los Pixelados

The monsters are coming out of the crypt and start terrorizing the local villages in this terribly funny tactical RPG. Take control of a pack of crazy monsters, attack human villages, eat humans and attract more monsters to join your cause. Use your magic and special abilities to defeat ever growing armies of silly humans.
Feast well and gather your forces for the King will not be so easily defeated!

After 3 days of hard work we finally have an awesome (and buggy) game :)
The game can also be played on Android (you can download the APK).

Change Log (critical bug-fixes within 48h)
- when wrong monster icon appeared in victory board
- when wrong "Taunt" ability description said +30% hp
- when monster EXP could go more than maximum
- when reaching max LV with a monster would have crashed the game

I wish the tactical battles we a bit quicker (I mean the animations). Also, at the start of the game, you have only one type of monster so your tactical options are pretty much non-existent. I'd suggest starting with 2.

But otherwise: very polished, the music is excellent, and tons of content. Kudos!

No bugs, simple good graphics, but the gameplay is very slow at the beginning. Played with it 15mins at least. Nice game. :)

Interesting game, untill you wish that the actions were instant without animation (maybe have something to turn quick combat on or something?)

Really nice little turn-based RPG, I feel like the combats went on for a bit too long but it has a lot of great content, good job!

As a side note, we added a few critical bug-fixes, as the jam rules allows us within 48h.
They are mentioned in the description.
Of course there are many other bugs, but they are good at hiding and hard to catch :))

Really cool looking all around. I liked unlocking new characters. But the gameplay got old and stale pretty fast. Perhaps speeding up the attack movements would help. And a forfeit button so I didn't have to wait so long to inevitably lose, sometimes.

Aside from animations taking a lot of time monsters only having one attack(and one special) turns the combat into a rather tedious affaire. I mean for the most part you are clicking on your chosen target(a kind of a trivial decision most of the time) just waiting for you special that in many cases result in simply attacking the same target or other no-brainer decision.

Nice graphics and some good old tactical gameplay, enjoyed it overall but the gameplay is reallllly slow paced due to the combat animations. But anyway, good job overall guys ;)

The pacing is a little bit slow, great music, nice graphics but they kinda look pixelated, not sure if that was intended or not. Overall a great game and quite polished.

When I try to run this on my Galaxy Nexus it says "can't open file" and doesn't do anything.

2X - 4X please! Always love a good RPG, and I think graphics are a strong part of that, Graphics here are tight.

I really enjoyed this one. Could do with a bit more tactical variety (back row, front row, maybe?) but a good effort for 3 days! I played it for much longer than I expected

I like this kind of game! But the animation are a little too slow and the game feels a little bit boring after a while.. but sometimes is challenging so the good rithm is reastored!
Love the graphic and great audio!

This is good that you made such long game for 3 days only. Usually it enough for LD to have 2-5 minutes of gameplay.

I wish to first combats to be more polished. I haven't a lot of choices (gameplay) and need to wait for a long animation sequences. It makes me feel boring. But I appreciate your efforts to make a big diversity game.

Fun tactical game. The battle animations need to be a little quicker. An added attacks for monsters or two monsters at the start of the game would allow for more interesting and tactical battles.

I, too, really want the "skip attack animations" button. Alternatively, there was no tactics involved in combat - I just had to attack one target all the time until they were all dead.
Anyway, that's a good start :)

I really like this game! My computer shut down while trying so I restarted the game to continue playing! The graphics and audio fit perfectly (exept the firt guy when he takes damage is a bit stressful). I would like the battle animation a bit quicker too, but nice gameplay

Most of my comments/complaints were mentioned above (attack animations being so long got annoying after a while/fights were fairly shallow).

Overall, though, very good entry.

One piece of advice for future jams: it might have been better to focus on a smaller, but more complicated sample of this. You chose to go breadth and I think a game like this deserves more depth. So rather than have the number of levels you have (and the number of monsters), perhaps have 1/4-1/2 of those, but provide a few more options for the ones you did have. I know it's always hard to make these kinds of decisions in a 48-72 hour timeframe, so I don't blame you for trying it this way, but if you make a game like this for a future jam, perhaps try to go the other way as it may work out a bit better for jam-style games (or I could be wrong and that method could crash and burn...but I think it'd be worth trying).
