As an inspiration I've combined "Tiny creatures" with 2 other final round theme options: absorb and mutation

gameplay:

  • watch over your creatures
  • let them absorb their enemies
  • upgrade them once they consumed enough

Tools used:

  • Godot 3.6
  • Paint.net
  • jsfxr (sfxr.me)
  • beepbox (beepbox.co)

Fun little game. It looks like you're only interacting between creatures on a collision enter event. This seems to cause problems where two creatures can be hugged up against one another and eventually just get stuck that way as they're not causing damage at all.

some units get stuck when trying to eat enemies but still pretty cool

Great game! 🐾🎮

I really liked the gameplay - dynamic and exciting! 💥 Sometimes the characters can get stuck, but this does not spoil the overall impression at all. It really reminds me of Sushi Cat, which only adds to the charm. 🎶
Great job, ! 👍

Nice game! I like the idea of having the character move automatically in a Vampire Survivors like (have the player do even less ). There's some nice strategy involved with trying to decide between upgrading and cloning. Of course there is also healing, but it's unfortunate that I can't see the health of my creatures. Because of that I'm not sure how much health they have left, and whether it's worth upgrading or healing.

For what it's worth: I didn't encounter the stuck bug people are talking about.

Fun game! Got to wave 21 and got demolished. It's enjoyable to watch the creatures fight, and upgrading them into huge ones. Would be nice with health bars, or give them sad faces at low health, since it's hard to know when to heal them.

Solid game, nice work!!

Simple and fun! I got to round 29 before being overwhelmed. I wish it was easier to tell when a creature had low HP.

Fun game...I did not see how to check the health of my creatures though so it was hard to decided which upgrade to get as opposed to just going health whenever it came up.

Loved the concept and the art feels minimalist but polished! :) I really liked the upgrade system, though 2 things annoyed me: Healing them is a must after a while (because I assume there is no health regeneration), but I don't see their health. And I don't know the enemies' damage, so it's a really hard estimation when should I heal them. :D The other one was that cloning a creature wouldn't copy the upgrades. I think that would have added a lot of depth to game. Anyway, solid entry, I enjoyed it really much! :) Edit: maybe a speed setting would have been handy. ^^

I truly enjoyed the concept here; I love these Idle games where you can just watch and see things unfold. 😊

The bubly bear animations are quite charming.

I can imagine this game playing with a lovely lo-fi soundtrack, paired with delightful animal variations. I love the idea that you can't die, so it's the kind of thing I'd have on my second monitor while working and enjoying some lo-fi beats. 😊

I love how minimal and polished this is. The dogs (?) are very cute, I love the pattern textures and the subtle animations.
It was easy to understand how to play the game, and it was captivating to watch the little creatures. The upgrade system felt well designed. With just a few options, there was still room for plenty of different strategies.
Very enjoyable game, well done!

The game is mesmerizing, it has a slow pace but somehow you stay here staring at your little blobs eating and getting bigger. I had a relaxing time playing it!

Really enjoyed the progression, and enjoyed the tension of watching your most elite units die.

Liked the art even though the gameplay involved a lot of watching still pretty fun.
