Very interesting concept for a game. A light logical deduction based game with branching pathways, very cool! Though the gameplay mostly comes down to talking to the rat with the red dot next to it.

*This* is what's under the dictionary entry for "don't judge a game by its meme pfp". A short but well-reasoned deduction game wrapped in memes and terrible collection of gifs from whherever, I thoroughly enjoyed its brief brain-scratch, even though mostly it's just following prompts around in circles. The "real time" pressure was administered just right, the slow-mo a nice bonus. Really fun!

It's a cool idea, but I didn't understand how to play a little.

I unlocked both endings and even saw a shocking rat showing pussy content!

I got like 1/4 of the steps left during a winning run, so it was a very close call.

Damn it Maria, how many times I have to repeat the same phrase to you?

Like some of your other jam games, this one has distinguishable humor component to it.

I couldn't provide any good feedback as this game feels like a finished mini story. It even has the markers telling you which rats were mentioned in the previous dialogue. I don't see how this can be turned into a full-fledged game (unlike your King game), but perhaps it can be a part of another game (a mini-game)? Or maybe rats can be varied more (or even randomized), so every run is like a "Slay The Princess" kind of adventure, where some choices lead to an unexpected branching.

@quasilyte thank you for the detailed review! I intentionally made it non-expandable so that there is no temptation to continue developing. Also I intentionally did not make rats randomized because this is just a jam entry, and a player should lose once and have an easy win after that, 5 minute adventure.

Yeah, I totally get that. It's the right choice here.
The randomization part was about expanding the game if you would ever think about it. :D
But as you said you don't want that, then this game is just perfect for the jam format. :)

Very creative, atmospheric game. Short phrases, yet gives all rats unique character, and so their wishes and motivations. Counting steps before tragedy (and Piper) really helps mood, as well as pipe sounds. I was very close on first walkthrough, but Piper got me. As afterthough, it's amuzing how well it works when you don't know what to expect, but literally it's almost programmed what player can do, even if it looks chaotic.

Best LD WTF moment so far. Music game? Deduction game? Branching Narrative? Mildly inappropriate? All of it! Want to see more games from where this comes from.

Through much trial and error The rat's common sense convinced them to slay the dastardly piper.

If I would describe this game I would describe it as Hmm... Interesting.
