Tic Tac Trillion by Levi
Trillions and trillions and trillions of tic-tac-ers have been playing it all wrong. They just had to zoom out.
Find here the wonderful world of the true TTT, where we have 3-in-a-row, 5-in-a-row, N-in-a-row! We got squares, we got stars, we got moving crosses that will wipe the board.
Play by yourself against a normal AI.
Play by yourself against a hard AI.
Play with your friend on a 30x30 board.
Play with your friend on a 60x60 board with 'hard' mode selected...?

Technical details: made in lua using the Love2D engine.

@dashvirus amazing, thank you. This was a concept i've had mulling in the back for a bit, and realised it might fit this theme -- so much more to do with it with more time. GoL was a large inspiration and noted on the AI haha :) Trying to get the AI to reason about the patterns was a tricky problem. Thank you for the honest feedback.
@arscene good point on the increased constraints making the game more interesting. Something to think about more on how this feeling of a constraint can be put in place while keeping an open board. Thank you for playing :)
Didn't really know what I was doing though, just kind of clicking randomly. I'm impressed with all the various combos available in such a short time--definitely did a great job coding this.
The AI is cool but the difficulty seems too low. Clicking around randomly or just making cross and connect-9 I was able to win in hard mode fairly easily.
If it were more clear what was going on, I think we would have really enjoyed this, although we had fun anyway =). Nice job!
don't think the the AI does it justice. I still
enjoyed discovering the various mechanics and thinking about
how to best use them.

Oooh, I see there are many combos...!
I guess it would be helpful to have these listed on the game page, otherwise I'm just placing squares blindly.
It's true that it's fun to discover new combos on your own, but I guess it's not ideal in a competitive game?
Maybe having a list that you would uncover while playing

Uuuh, do a certain amount of squares in a row self-destruct or something?
---
Ummm, how did a 2x4 square turn into a cross?
---
Not a big fan of larger grids... Don't feel like they add much to the gameplay.
---
Crosses override each other, my cross factory dream is over :sob:

Closing thoughts: ***FUUUUUN!*** and original!
