Not the mosquito again by kawales

[raw]
made by kawales for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

PvP game where you play a mosquito annoying a human.

Goal is to fill your body with blood before the time runs out

Mosquito controls

  • A / left stick left - Rotate clockwise
  • D / left stick right - Rotate anti clockwise
  • S / right action / Sony - circle / XBox - B - Attach to skin and start sucking / Detach from skin / Enter the ear

Pro tips

if you stay on skin for long enough bite mark will appear, that will deal damage over time. You can enter humans ear to deal a lot of damage, but be careful you can get trapped inside if the other ear is blocked.

Human controls

Goal is to prevent mosquito from bothering you and sucking your blood

  • <,>,^,v / left stick left, right, up, down - Control hand
  • M / Shoulder buttons - Switch hands
  • Space / right action / Sony - circle / XBox - B - Attack / Scratch

Pro tips

Be careful, hands have limited reach area, you will not be able to move very fast if you exit it. You can block your ear by placing hand over it, that will disable mosquito from entering it. You can trap mosquito in your head by blocking one ear while the mosquito is already inside your head. You can remove bite mark by scratching it a few times.

A fun little game as long as you have someone there to play with you, it'd be nice if there was some functionality for the computer to play as one or the other, luckily I had my wife play as the human.

It reminds me of some of the co-op games I played on the PC in the late 90's, and the art style was really nice!

Fun graphics and matching audio. I liked that you can see the results of your actions - the sore spots on your face and the visually changing percent meter. I didn't encounter any resistance, though
