All hail the dread lord Kul'Chkk, risen from his aeons-deep slumber!
Destroy! Consume! For your time in this realm is brief!

------------------------------

My first LD, this observes all of the rules for 'hard mode' except I didn't meet the deadline... so no sound whatsoever *sadface*.

Tools used:
Unity 5 free - https://unity3d.com/
Blender - https://www.blender.org/
Photoshop Elements - http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements.html
Substance Painter Indie - https://www.allegorithmic.com/products/substance-painter
Fonts used under the OFL licence:
Amburegal - http://openfontlibrary.org/en/font/amburegul
ASAP - http://openfontlibrary.org/en/font/asap

in the spirit of GameJamming, I'll be throwing all assets created for this Jam up onto Open Game Art.

------------------------------

Problems:
I had many, and fixing them was a huge time sink.
The Laser effect is super-temperamental in webplayer builds, which is a shame because its the most fun thing to do. YMMV, but Firefox is least temperamental.

EDIT 1:
I've now thrown all the assets I made for this up on Open Game Art:
http://opengameart.org/content/ld33-assets

EDIT 2:
I've linked my mini post mortem as it may be of interest :)

Nice little game! I enjoyed consuming souls. And blowing buildings up.

Nice game, although you should try to make the gameplay a bit smoother.

Really enjoyed it. The movement was a little difficult on a laptop. Would have liked to use WASD for controls. Good game though!

Very smooth and and simple gameplay. That makes the game pretty fun. Just need some awesome destruction sounds and screams! :D

Sorry to hear you had so many problems during development. The laser worked fine for me in Firefox.

I can see why Kul'Chkk's time in this realm is so brief, since he moves so slow. A faster movespeed and building destruction speed could be entertaining, though I don't know how performance would be affected.

Fun Game but I wish the monster moved a bit faster.

Great game, too bad you did not make it.
Looks very solid what you did there, I really liked the laser effect!
Maybe you can add some sound to finish it up?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments guy - after voting has ended I might throw up a WASD controlled version with sound just for kicks

It was interesting. Would've been better with sound though! I enjoyed burninating the people!

Way to go on your first entry in Ludum Dare! I would have loved clear breakdown of how the monster score at the end was calculated, so I could have divided my time wisely between burning and eating.

I like the fact that this game relies on mouse alone. It gets around the keyboard layout conflict. Though I'd have preferred if the monster didn't look like a stock capsule mesh with textures on it (it's understandable, though; making 3D objects requires time and skills, since it's a totally different way of making art).
