ahah I thought they were just distracting visual above the game. Then I splat one!

AI generate graphics huh, it's still obvious even converted to pixels. Nice try but NO

@ayamari I never tried to hide it. It should be obvious to most, shouldn’t it? Still, I did a lot more work than just using these images as they are. I don't think it's necessarily true that if you're using AI-generated images, you haven't done any work on the graphics. However, it’s probably a good idea to add a disclaimer to the description.

When the bug crawled onto the screen for the first time I jumped a little :'(. The sound combined with the visual filtering actually created a really cohesive game environment, well done.

The music was great, I wish I was less of a wimp and hadn't peeked at the review comments before playing. Nice little twist for frenzied clicking!

Twisted, alright. With freaking cockroaches! I fear those insects, but this twist doesn't hamper my scoring.

Fun twist on the classic matching game! I was trying to strategize when to squish the cockroaches to avoid too much splatter on the pictures, but it got challenging quite fast. Addictive little game, nice job! I liked the music and Gameboy Colour palette too!

Cool idea. A little twist on the old memory game. You used the theme in an interesting way.

Congratulations

Despite the use of AI, your approach to the game's graphics is still interesting, nice style!

I love the mood, and the idea of insect splash covering the screen! Graphics that are not AI are good.
Just one note there is to much loli with nearly identical visual.
my best is round 3

Your game is really nicely done ! The general vibe and the little twist add a lot of flavor to it, it's just too bad that you used IA images without altering them that much, a lot af the character's faces kinda look the same which make the memory part a bit more frustrating for me '^'

Solid implementation and works well with the twist. It was also a good idea to pick a distinguishing style.

I like the style of this game! This interpretation of the theme is pretty clever, and I think despite having AI art for the tiles, which make them a bit hard to remember since they're similar, the graphics overall was thematically consistent and distinct which I think deserves credit :)

I don't think the cockroach mechanic worked out as well as you probably expected it to. My first playthrough I noticed that clicking and splattering them would make it difficult to see the faces, so on my second attempt I just ignored them and focused on trying to differentiate all the generic anime faces.

I think it would have been better if the roaches had a time limit where they exploded and left the permanent mark on the board, but you could prevent this by clicking them before that happens. This gives the player a secondary goal of trying to click on all the roaches while also trying to click and memorize the portraits. With the added time constraint this could make the game much more difficult and engaging. Currently it's just a simple matching game with some roaches crawling all over the screen.

@skleembof Thanks for the feedback! Actually, I expected nothing from the cockroach mechanic; it was pure improvisation. :) But it sort of works, as every round the cockroaches' speed increases, making it much more likely to splat one (you probably didn't play long enough, which is understandable). Also, I added one more mechanic to the post-jam version. The game is already difficult enough, I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to reach round 10. BUT your idea is great, and since I'm planning to make at least one more post-jam release, it’s likely I’ll use it. Thanks again!

Very cohesive and cool style!
At first I didn't think the roaches would affect the gameplay, but Combined with the timer, they made more challenging than i initially expected, not too difficult though. Great job!
