the animations was so funny, and the music just hits so good
great job!!!
had a few issues with the two jumps with the low ceiling but overall a great time.
for me the screen just went black after getting to the last statue thing so I'm not sure what happened but I guess that's the end.
Good job!
Anyway the game is great, controls and physics are great too. Maybe the only thing that I would do differently is that I would add more checkpoints, because the backtracking feels too much. But I'm a HUGE platformer noob, so I was dying a lot haha. So take my words with the grain of salt :)
Music is great but loud! Really needs settings/volume controls!
I love metroidvania elements — great game!
The lack of checkpoints angered me at first, but given how short the game
is it actually makes sense (and makes the traps funnier).
- Some music tracks seemed more "excited" than the others, which almost gave me a vibe that something different is going to happen, so maybe bringing them all to similar levels would be good!
- I think this could be a fun idea of a player vs narrator sort of experience, platformer games are awesome at telling stories like these, I vaguely remember Thomas Was Alone did a nice narrative thing with simple platformer mechanics, so maybe you could expand it this way!
- the fact that there are no checkpoints, but what made it a problem is the next one:
- you don't retain abilities - this is the true issue; I could live with restarting at the beginning, but I had to always get the checkpoints which unlocked the abilities, which seems to artificially extend the gameplay;
- the text is too small - I would also add that the text presentation feels a little inconsistent with the gameplay presentation (too high res), so not necessarily just a matter of font size.
Also, I know that the level gets repeated when I die, but at the beginning I unintentionally skipped the text on initial checkpoints, and that text explained how to use the controls.
Anyway, it's a quite polished Compo entry, the controls were very smooth and I liked the graphical style and music. Great work! Thanks!
Just for playing the game alone, I already deserve my admiration. One day I will have that ability.

- Jumping blindly and relying on luck to land in a safe place is not cool...
- I found all the little monsters and everything went dark. Is that right or did I miss something?
Congratulations!
Fine pixel-art and tunes :musical_note:
Well done!
