The music is extremely loud and made it difficult to play the game. The text is also difficult to read, even in full screen. I feel like there is a fun rage game here but the presentation made it a challenge to play

This was a fun game. I got to the end I think (it just cut to black) and the way upgrades unlocked kept me coming back until I completed it. The simple graphics worked really well for it and the music was great. Well done!

music was great by itself!
had a few issues with the two jumps with the low ceiling but overall a great time.
for me the screen just went black after getting to the last statue thing so I'm not sure what happened but I guess that's the end.

Very fun game! The music is very nice and I liked the graphics. The ending was a bit abrupt. The level was nicely made and fun to figure out where I could go and fall down.
Good job!

Cool visual style for this game! The gameplay reminded me of troll mario maker levels haha, with the messages and the wrong paths. By the end, I knew I would definitely have to die to find out where the last thingamajig was hehe. That being said, the game restarts pretty quickly and it's very fast to get to where you were before, so while I usually appreciate checkpoints, I feel like not having them here was the right call due to the nature of the game. Good job! (PS: I had to lower the volume down a bit, the music is good but it was very loud haha)

It's a pretty cool and fun platformer with beautiful visuals and energetic music. I really love the background story that you are fixing a giant robot, it gives the game such a cute, almost Anime-like charm...? I don't know how to explain it haha.

Anyway the game is great, controls and physics are great too. Maybe the only thing that I would do differently is that I would add more checkpoints, because the backtracking feels too much. But I'm a HUGE platformer noob, so I was dying a lot haha. So take my words with the grain of salt :)

Tight little game.

Music is great but loud! Really needs settings/volume controls!

The only thing I really had any problem with was the need to start over every time I died. I've did the same thing in an earlier game I made and realized to late that it was a necessity to have checkpoints. But everything else was really good! Loved the visuals and music!

Fantastic atmosphere! I just wish there were some sort of checkpoints so I wouldn't have to restart the whole game when I fall.

I'm sorry I finally gave up after dying too many times, because starting over again and again is quite harsh. Apart from that, this is a great entry. The game feel is very nice, the music fits well and I like the simple and colorful graphics too. I don't think you are very far from making this reaaallly fun so good job!

OMG I absolutely love your entry, I didn't expect to be surprised by a platformer but I loooooove it !! The art is amazing, love the style and the color palette ! Well done !

Really like the art style, makes me think of VVVVVV. The platforming feels good to play as well. I think I finished it? although not sure if there was any more to the ending. The screen turned black and it sounded like a textbox appeared, although not visible.

I couldn’t finish the game, but I had a lot of fun — such energetic music and sounds!
I love metroidvania elements — great game!

Very fun! Reminds me of classic platformers like VVVVVVV. I liked the single color graphics but would be helpful if the "walls" were a little clearer as to what parts were traversable.

Funky, but quite frustrating. I think it would be a lot nice if you could keep the upgrades youve found when you die, reseting everything makes it quite tedious to get back to where you died. Checkpoints would also be nice for this, but I think it was more annoying having to go to the upgrade statues each death more than having to backtrack to where I was. Sound is good and the art has a nice theme too, nice job ^^

Great game, minimalist graphics, nice music, but hard as nails. I think I got to the end. Some checkpoints along the way would be nice, repeating the same things over and over is not much fun.

I love the visuals! Player movement felt very solid as well.
The lack of checkpoints angered me at first, but given how short the game
is it actually makes sense (and makes the traps funnier).

Suuuper trippy and cool graphics, really liked the vibe that you put in there! The audio seemed to have a lot work put into it as well, with different music tracks changing with my playthroughs (I died a lot of times :D). The unreliable narrator was fun and I felt accomplished when I found all of the chalices (at least I hope that's how they're called!). Some little feedback below!
- Some music tracks seemed more "excited" than the others, which almost gave me a vibe that something different is going to happen, so maybe bringing them all to similar levels would be good!
- I think this could be a fun idea of a player vs narrator sort of experience, platformer games are awesome at telling stories like these, I vaguely remember Thomas Was Alone did a nice narrative thing with simple platformer mechanics, so maybe you could expand it this way!

Okay, while the music is a little bit loud, I actually liked it so I didn't mind too much. And generally, the game feels quite polished. I really liked the color scheme, somehow reminded me of flashpunk framework. I think others already mentioned what are the main problems (which, to be fair, are very minor given this is a Compo entry):

- the fact that there are no checkpoints, but what made it a problem is the next one:
- you don't retain abilities - this is the true issue; I could live with restarting at the beginning, but I had to always get the checkpoints which unlocked the abilities, which seems to artificially extend the gameplay;
- the text is too small - I would also add that the text presentation feels a little inconsistent with the gameplay presentation (too high res), so not necessarily just a matter of font size.

Also, I know that the level gets repeated when I die, but at the beginning I unintentionally skipped the text on initial checkpoints, and that text explained how to use the controls.

Anyway, it's a quite polished Compo entry, the controls were very smooth and I liked the graphical style and music. Great work! Thanks!

Critical hit on scope! Managed to make it feel polished and looking good even on a simple premise and style

Simple platformer but well implemented and with nice twists! Took me a few tries to get to the end. The music is awesome! The fact that it changes randomly every time you die made me die on purpose to listen to specific songs xD is it supposed to just cut to black after you get to the last checkpoint? Great work!

Like there few track, which are playing randomly after death and metroidvania's segment in nutshell is cool and art style is worthy. But i don't like that char is losing perks (dash, glide) after death, it is disrupting the flow.

A fun little game, only a couple of issues I had which were not know where sometimes death spike pits were and the audio was a little loud. Over than that, highly enjoyed the metroidvania-ish style and the graphics were charming! Great stuff! ^-^

Really nice game! The audio is fire and the visuals too! I really missed having some checkpoint because I'm an awful platformer, but it was still really fun! Congrats

I thought your game was really beautiful. And the music is also very exciting and I really like the cybernetic theme and the neon lights. Very Synthwave!

Just for playing the game alone, I already deserve my admiration. One day I will have that ability.

- Jumping blindly and relying on luck to land in a safe place is not cool...
- I found all the little monsters and everything went dark. Is that right or did I miss something?

Congratulations!

If I'd have to describe core concept that would be "Leap of Faith" and while it's generally not a good thing, I does somewhat extends this short game forcing you to explore. At one point I was actually giving up, but took the plunge and managed to find all totems. Did want to make screenshot, but couldn't make it in time as it went dark, the last thing read "Get out of here".

Fine pixel-art and tunes :musical_note:

Well done!
