Doors by OddballDave
Try not to descend into the depths of despair as you navigate your own personal purgatory. You must escape the endless drudgery of, well, who knows where. At least you will be encouraged along by the ever helpful narrator.
Standard first person controls, you can alter mouse sensitivity with [ and ].
Made in Godot, using Clip Studio Paint Pro and Audacity.
Enjoy :8ball:

It's really cute. The tone's just right. Love the voice acting and jokes, changing rooms in surprising ways.
(makes me also think at Rick and Morty Fake Doors commercial)
had trouble finding the exit where you had to go through the brick door.
I restarted the game once because I thought I broke it. felt a bit bad because I was taught before that brick doors don't open multiple times.
otherwise very nice entry I think it captures very well what you tried to achieve. cool game.
I literally broke it haha

You almost burst my eardrums when I fell through the door on the ground but I'm alive and happy.
I like the narration and music very much, although the loop was kinda glitchy at the end. No sweat in any case. Deadline!
Congratulations on such an interesting submission!
Good game, I enjoyed playing it!
I recorded myself playing it too:

Guess I don't need to bring up The Stanley Parable since you lampshaded it yourself, but yeah. Fun to see another take on that sort of thing. I'm left wondering about any themes I might've missed. Maybe the purgatory is the lack of a clear resolution in that final (or not?) room... :')
Nice graphics and voice acting. Enjoyed the various ways you were able to play around with the door mechanic. I did have the occasional flicker that seemed to be different from the flickering of the lights, felt like the whole screen went bright sometimes for a frame or two, but maybe that's related to the lights in some way too.
Pretty cool!
