I like this pixelated textures. Is that a shader?
DennisPerSecond
05. Apr 2025 · 20:39 UTC
@okuar No, it's the real texture resolution without filtering, for that I use in Substance Painter the addon "Pixel8er" (which on the other hand is an internal filter XD). We hope to safe with that some performance and get a unique style at the same time^^

its looks pretty cool. i like the wood inside the spaceship - reminds me of home:)
how big a level are you planning to make?
DennisPerSecond
06. Apr 2025 · 14:03 UTC
@okuar yeah, the ship should feel like a save haven, so I'm glad that we seem to hit the right tone :D

About the size. we are planning on one big asteroid field where you can mine ressources, but also can be attacked by some slimy "Voidmites"

That alien creature looks really awesome! I love the cardboard look of the ship too.

Wow, quite the epic entry. I'm impressed some people can release something like this in 2-3 days. I had a bit of issues getting the game to run. The game blacked out when I went to pilot the ship. But I fixed it by refreshing my browser. It was fun exploring the ship and outer space. The controls a bit janky but I can't blame you. You might also want to include a downloadable version.

@ricesteam yeah!! the controls when you are floating in space shouldn't be like that, we found out of that problem 5 minutes before jam ends
thanks for playing our game!, I'm testing yours right now

Really cool! Amazing artwork for the jam I think there are a lot of people that would enjoy playing a polished game like this - me included. Wishing you the best of luck!

More games should give you the option to climb out of your ship and hit aliens with a baseball bat

@wles Hell yes, that's what I mean too!

That was fun, great job taking on something so ambitious (3d, three different control modes, *and* thonk-y bat-to-squid combat)!

I had a little trouble with gravity, I think I might've entered the ship a little fast or at a strange angle -- had to off myself by mashing x to get respawned. Gravity stayed slightly sideways, but not so much so that I couldn't get through another mining trip.

Thanks for sharing your game!

Very nice ! Not very fluid on my laptop, but I cannot blame you for that. The graphics and the sound effects are really great !

@bearcage best way to stabilize the ship ist to sit in the captains Chair. This Brake all rotations^^

Thanks for playing🤗

@lucasito thank you, yeah there is much going in, we where a bit too ambitious😅

woah woah, top points for mood. I really felt like I was tasked with being in a homely spaceship, out cowboy-ing among the stars, and gathering resources on my eternal quest. A lot of complex work done in a short time :)

I can see where you were going with this and what a great entry! I think you should keep going with this. Think there is something truly fantastic here, with some more time to execute

@shadow-veil-society yeah at the end it was hard to get it all together, but maybe in the future we can present the whole, fleshed out idea

Can you make a downloadable build since the web version's performance is unplayable.
Also when trying to restart the mouse is still locked so I can't press the start button.

It is a neat concept and has some great atmosphere so I would love to be able to play it properly.

@someone I will ask @gamedevtraum if he can do that^^

Wow love the mood! Really got into the zen mode when mining. Great music. Smart mining with the subtle "aiming" skill test. The energy going down while you're away mining seems to be a very effective way to form the motivation of "opimizing the mining". One thing that I noticed being a bit unforgiving was the "U" shape on the back of the spaceship making the returning a bit too tricky sometimes. Walking inside the spaceship feels a bit weird as if you're always sliding. Other than that, I believe there's something here to be explored further! Neat concept and really well executed to prove it!

@aizomon Thank you for your criticism! The goal was to create a certain game cycle that makes the player use the components of the game. Unfortunately, it's not quite smooth yet, but I'm all the more pleased that you had fun with it^^

A game about how to go into outer space and not start to puke from dizziness! 10 vestibular apparatus from 10

@anhell06 unfortunately, we hadn't found out why the character gets such a strong spin when you touches something in space 😅

Wow, the game looks and feels incredibly promising. Beautiful environments—it's genuinely pleasant just being in this world. Unfortunately, the more ambitious a project is, the higher the chance something might go wrong. In my case, enemies somehow pushed me through the wall of a safe cabin straight into open space

Everything is cool — the graphics, audio, music, and atmosphere are all great. But the controls definitely need fixing; for me, it was almost unplayable.

@yancharkin, next big fix will be on the weekend, maybe you want to try it then again🤗

This game is really good visually and sound design wise, however I think the gameplay is too slow.
Combat also felt a bit unfair, I could only exchange damage, so I fell into the loop of damaging, dying and respawning

@dock-frankenstein absolutely, we haven't time to properly balance different parameters, we also couldn't implement few mechanics like oil-drinking, and the detector and thrusters modules, you can only pull the levers but the purpouse of those system weren't included in the version we deliver. The creatures should attack the ship if you are inside, but when they do that is super buggy because of how the movement of the creatures was implemented. We are working on fix several bugs and finishing the prototype this weekend

This game is fantastic! Love games where you can float around freely and that's what this one is all about. Counting up all the streams I've played it on I have played this game for a grand total of 1 hour and 13 minutes. It's fun flying the ship around and bonking the pussy-faced squids. Looking out at all the floating rocks is quite mesmerizing, this is one of the most visually appealing games I've played on stream this jam and I can say with confidence it ignites my sense of exploration like nearly none of these jam games have. I consider this a very FERTILE game, as I see so many ways this can be taken moving forward that it gets me excited to revisit this with each new update. So far each patch has improved the game tenfold, great work overall
