This is my first Ludum Dare. It was fun making the game—creating all the sounds and models myself. I hope you enjoy my game!!

I got hooked into the world and story. Great entry! I thought the player controller was a bit weird. When I release the movement controls my character keeps moving a bit and then makes an abrupt stop. Maybe the accel/deccel mechanism could have been adjusted better.

Love it! Hooked me in, I stayed engaged for all 3 endings, what a charming nugget of game, good job!

You know you've done something well in Ludum Dare if you can get someone to replay your game 3 times to get all the endings. Ending 2/3 was definitely the coolest. The ambient audio and clever use of lighting worked really well to create a compelling atmosphere. Good work finishing your first Compo!

The visuals are pretty impressive, and I like how the reduced visibility at the top and bottom of the stairs plays into the story. I think the game was a bit too easy: the puzzles could be solved in seconds and it wasn't hard to guess what you need to do to get all three endings, so the majority of the gameplay for me was just slowly walking and clicking through the dialogue. Otherwise, good entry!

Really awesome game! I like the overall ambience and the black/white theme and fading between them as you venture further down and up was really pleasing to look at. The gameplay is really solid and the fun little puzzles to get the embers was a nice touch. Overall, really well made!

I really liked the narrative of this game, using the coal to color the screen black was a really creative idea and not something I expected. The atmosphere was really cool and I'll definitely come back to try the other endings, I got number 2 on my fist playthrough!

Multiple endings for a jam game is craaazy ambitious, great work pulling it off! cool vibes, wild visuals, and short but satisfying puzzles. Something about this game just works for me and I can't even really nail down what it is, it just feels cool lol great work!

Cool! Compelling dialogue and short story. It's amazing how much depth can be in a game with such simple controls. The puzzles were good, too! The music and SFX set the mood perfectly.

Really love the lore focused game! The little painting mini game when you reach the top was very satisfying. I was a little flash banged by the light leading to the top but the comparison to darkness was quite apt and clever. I could have gone for a bit higher difficulty in the puzzles, but they were all very intuitive. The lore behind needing to solves the puzzle really drove me to complete them despite their simplicity.

Well done!

As others have said, the coloring in the screen part of ending 2 was very interesting. The puzzles were pretty basic, but I don't think that's a bad thing, because spending a long time trying to figure them out might have detracted from the overall mood of the game, at least for me. This was fun to play through.
