The Mine Beckons by dnp
The mine beckons and treasure calls from the depths.
Dig through increasingly difficult layers while upgrading your skills in search of the ultimate prize.
HOW TO PLAY
Each time you enter the mine you have a limited amount of energy to mine the layer. Mining the whole layer allows you to enter the next layer. Each layer is harder to mine but gives more money.
Controls:
Move the miner with WASD or Arrow Keys. Attempting to move into an unmined tile will start to mine it.
When not in the mine, upgrade the miner's stats by clicking on the plus under the stat.
Strength: Amount of damage you deal to rocks and ores.
Endurance: Amount of energy you have.
Luck: Increases chance of a rock spawning an ore.
You can choose which layer you enter up to the maximum you have cleared by using the arrow buttons next to the 'Enter Mine' button.

These games are always fun! Would be nice with some dangers so you can't just hold a key to spam your way through all blocks. I wanted to increase luck even more to spawn BETTER ores, even if all blocks already had ores on them :) Would also be nice with a "Buy max" option so you don't have to click like crazy to upgrade.
Good job overall, was fun!
As others said, I think basic sfx would have helped a lot. Also I wonder if the clear condition would work better as "mine all ores", as clearing all the grey squares ends up feeling a little grindy and just a stat check at that point.
so yeah this was a pretty balanced game. nice job!
really nice little game, great job!
For the first i think there is no end, but thanks to the comments i realize that there is the end. And hooray! I did it ^_^
Very nice balance, i think you have some nice formula behind this digging.
Thanks ^_^
I like the simple art, but any sound would make it 200% better (sfxr, audacity) and beepbox are great tools to quickly have something.
Nice to see you have used github during the development process of the game. I have starred and added your repository to a list of ld57 compo I am playing : https://github.com/stars/dhmmasson/lists/ludum-dare-57-compo
I have created badges that you can use to decorate your readme :

I recommend adding sound you can use freesound.org and maybe a small screenshake if you hit a special material.
