Void Plunder by Malte Hedenstrom
✨ Welcome to Void Plunder! ✨
Take to the skies—well, the shimmering, mysterious Void—in your trusty lightbulb-balloon! Your mission: navigate a surreal landscape, gather the 5 treasures, and return them safely to base.
Use your trusty grappling hook to collect radiant Glowium, a strange substance that makes your balloon lighter, causing you to float upward. To descend, grab sparkling Sandbags to weigh yourself down. While Mastering the delicate balance between weight and lift as you drift through the ever-shifting void.
But beware the ever-curious Void Dragons. While not outright hostile, these shimmering beasts are drawn to anything shiny and tend to take a small nibble.
If one starts to get too curious, you can toss a Sandbag or even a chunk of Glowium to distract them. With a bit of luck (and good aim), you’ll keep your treasure safe and keep the dragons at bay.
Find the treasure. Balance your weight. Outsmart the dragons.

Unfortunately the controls are not very clear
Also the mouse is too sensitive
Maybe the controls could be a bit more responsive, but overall it was good.
Can you fix the mouse sensitivity ++ provide custom control of it in a pause menu?
I will come back and try again if you can do that!
Technically, the game feels pretty clunky and is easy to break — but everything else is solid!
One note: the mouse is not captured by the window, it can lead to strange behaviors (like at my first run I was drifting up)
Unfortunately I found the gameplay a little frustrating. You move really slowly and there's not much to do on the way to to the treasures, other than fend off the dragons which ended up just kind of being nuisances. I also found the balloon really awkward to maneuver, and it took me a solid minute to get close enough to one of the treasures to pick it up. (This was made more annoying by the camera, which kept drifting upwards no matter where I moved my mouse.)
Overall, I think with some tighter controls and more engaging gameplay, this concept could really shine.
Now, as for what could be improved: traversing the void felt a tad too sluggish for my liking, and taking damage from the dragons wasn't noticeable enough - I went half of my experience without even noticing the health bar go down. A sound cue or some screen shake would have come in handy.
I also ran into an issue which rendered everything invisible after I entered "the depths", despite one of the pointers guiding me towards it. Not sure if it was an intended feature, or if I interpreted the pointer wrong. Perhaps a few more in-game messages or warnings could have helped clarify things.
Regardless, I'm glad I gave Void Plunder a try. It was a cool experience start to finish. Thanks for the game!
