Super Mecha Diggin Dodge Idle by wheelsx

[raw]
made by wheelsx for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

Tips

  • Upgrading drill sharpness will allow you to go full speed at deeper depths. If you start slowing down, upgrade drill sharpness.
  • Upgrading drill power makes you fast.. This means more gold, but enemies get hard faster.
  • Rocket and grenade launchers fire slow but hurt enemies more.
  • Don't forget about health.

Liked the gameplay, music was quite loud initially, but very addictive

Very cool idea. UI could do with some work, but the adding weapons to where the enemies are is a very cool idea

Love an idle game. Big number go up is a dopamine rush. Awesome game!

Very satisfying core loop, funny flavor to the game (how did those birds get in that hole?!) — I definitely didn't keep pace with the baddies all that long, but a couple plays and I had the hang of it.

Thanks for sharing your game!

Cool game. I wish i could see my stats at the end, the restart button was blocking it.![supermegadiggindodgeidle.png](///raw/5ce/z/6b34a.png)![supermegadiggindodgeidle2.png](///raw/5ce/z/6b34b.png)

@milano23 That must be an issue with the web build, it's a slightly different screen ratio than the Windows version. I didn't fully test the web version, that's my bad.

It was cool to read your story about creating a similar game 11 years ago and still doing game jams today. This was fun!

It's crazy that you've been doing game jams for 11 years! I enjoyed this game a lot, it reminds me of those old school chaotic flash games on new ground. It really taps into that monkey brain feeling of click and make things go faster and go boom! Thanks for the game

Lovely game! Congrats on the 11 years :D

The game was plenty fun! I really enjoyed that the pwoerups didn't stop the game but were not intrusive either. I'd also love to have a leaderboard at the end.

The audio at the end game screen kind of glitched and looped which was weird but funny.

Great submission!

Super easy to get going even without instructions. Played it for quite a while without getting anywhere close to the end. I will say having to toggle the weapons stuff off and on every time was a bit annoying and I think maybe a few lines of text/story would have made it more engaging, but it's a cute and playable idle game. Well done.

this shit gets way too hard too fast. like i just started and i barelly have a single upgrade and im down half health. should have put a leeway in to let the player learn the game before throwing them at the wolves :D

Fun game with simple execution but a good amount of options. I think it does start out a little fast (or maybe thats just how I was playing it) so I felt like I kind of had to rush certain upgrades or spam to get certain milestones, but that just made it even more hectic and engaging! Absolutely loved to see a robot drilling down and down armed with a litany of expensive, outrageous weaponry attacked by the wildest of things. Well done!

Great game. I was a little confused at first because the weapon damage shop didnt show anything, bu then i realized the "buy weapons" button was further down.

Hey, this is a great game and I really enjoyed playing it, getting close to 1000m in my last run. It definitely felt really nice to see your bot speed up when you upgraded the drill and to see the different weapon types. I would have loved to have an option to control the music volume, as it was super loud

A fun little idle clicker, I'm not really into that type of game but I ended up playing waaaay longer that I had expected! Nice job

Ooh I had fun playing yours! The music is EPIC :grinning: First I thought: ooh I can get some snacks while it just keeps going, but you actually mad it so that you need to keep upgrading to stay ahead of the curve. Took me several times to get all the weapons :innocent:
Well done! Your game was a much needed refreshment for me

Solid entry - like its background metal music. The main concept is really interesting - and the aesthetic deserves our respect - especially for a game which has been done in less than 72 hours. Maybe (but it's not a reproach), you could integrate a tutorial system. This project has great potential. Well done. Thank you for this noisy experience - and for your comment about my own project. I wish you the best ++

Fun game. Seemingly simple concept but as you go the situation unfolding in front of you becomes more and more convoluted and hilarious. The music is absolutely perfect, and the graphics remind me of an old flash game which is an aesthetic I love.

Simple and addictive! My monkey brain see numbers go higher and I like it. It could use some balance but overall the randomizer is doing well.

Solid game overall. I would've liked to see the HP of the enemies and how much damage my weapons were dealing though
