Go Rescue Her! by INCD021
A bit of moral dilemma wrapped in a minimal space shooter.

Controls
- Movement: WASD
- fire: IJKL or arrow-keys
That’s about it. The game is just a shadow of what I had imagined - but isn’t that always the case with 48-hour games like this? Still, the core idea is in there.
Having to wrestle with Godot as much as I did is a clear sign that I haven’t been using it enough 😄. That said, the updated TileMap system looks much more suited to my needs than it was in version 3 - though I’ll only know for sure if time ever allows me to dig deeper.
I hope you enjoy this small game. It can be finished in under a minute… or longer, if you to take your time.
Note : The audio isn't the best, but I didn't have a "safe space" to make audio, so it's very muffled.

Hope you had a lot of fun creating it.
Windows-Version worked fine for me ;)
My only criticism is that the combat is the most fun part, but it's a lot safer to just ignore it, which makes the game pretty short.
Overall I like the setting, and the story screen illustrations were quite nice. Good job!
(P.S. The Windows build worked good for me on Windows 11)
Thanks for playing and rating
@andrewkennedy It is kind of what I was going for, "What is a good ending?" So I think you got exactly from it what was intended. Regarding the combat; It was thrown in there to add some obstacles to get around, and time didn't really allow for me to implement any behavior besides, shooting at you when you got to close.
Thanks for playing and rating
I like the two endings and that there's not a perfect one.
The under construction edge of space was funny.
The combat, controls, art, and sound are all well done. I ended up just avoiding the combat once I realized I could get the objective without it.

nice game. i loved under construction. mesmerizing space dots. ^_^
The gameplay works well, and the way you're told where to go is very effective without getting in the way. I liked the graphics, and despite what you said I think the audio sounds good too.
The one thing for me personally is that I'm not fond of "dark", so while the "you have to make choices and live with them" is good at setting the mood, it's not really a mood I enjoy. That's not a rating issue though, it's really just me.
I liked it and it has a great vibe. You should definitely spend a bit of time shaping it up into your original vision, if you can find the time! :)
I didn't find myself really engaging with the enemies or the shooting, because I could just whizz past them to the quest marker, but I didn't mind.
