Hey my friend, I really enjoyed your game! The sounds took me back to my childhood, when I used to play NES in the living room with my cousins.

It took a couple of tries for me to figure out how the cards work in Miner. After that, things start to get interesting. I was excavating the earth and with crystal fireball powers and keeping the clock in check.

There's a lot of potential decks. If there's one nit I could pick, it would be that I'd like to see how each card's effect is changing the various elements like the time and the effectiveness of my pick axe beyond the cards being activated with the magic flame.

Props for having full-drawn scenes for the story, really charming.

Love the art and music, had a lil bit of confusion with understanding the cards, but I saw that they activated when I hit the ores. It would be nice to have a bit more control of the timing of the cards effects I think. I kept clicking them and accidentally taking them out of my inventory in attempts to try to use them haha.

Great game! Took me a while to understand how to play. I wish there was somewhere to read about different card powers, because sometimes it's hard to get what they do :) Anyway, well done!

This game has some huge similarities with the one that me and my team has made!!!!!!!

There are so much mechanics here that are well done, especially the fact that you have to activate a certain card by mining a certain ore. The different card combinations are also really fun to play around, I've got a run where I have 5 <- -> cards, and that is pretty satisfying. I would like to point out that the clarity of the function of the cards can be much clearer, if there is an UI that shows what the cards are, and what are they doing, I believe the game would be much enjoyable than it is. Another point is that the time ticking down is not so obvious, making it kind of quick to finish, especially when I have finally got such an awesome combination. Apart from those two points that I made, the game is incredibly well made, with them creative game mechanics.

Congrats on finishing the game jam and creating such an innovative game!

Would be nice to have a list of the cards' properties. Was cool to try and figure them out though

Like other people have commented I struggled to figure out the card mechanics at first, though once I got going it was pretty great! Didn't manage to get a successful run but I enjoyed what I played. Nicely done!

The game feels very good to play, but I find it a bit difficult to understand the functions of the cards. What does it mean when a card lights up? If these parts could be well demonstrated, the gameplay would probably be more strategic.

Damn, that was hard! I managed to complete the game, but I'm still not sure what all the cards do. I also managed to break the whole world, but still lose haha!

I enjoyed the playful "mario-like" mood =)

Here are some suggestions :
* As others have pointed out, it would've been great to have a description of the effects somewhere (a brief message upon pickup, or at least a reference on the game page).
* The timer is really unforgiving. There's no time to build a deck! A pause feature when swapping cards would've been great.
* The compass direction was really unintuitive to me. Maybe use a simple arrow or a compass needle to show the direction?

I’m really happy that @510, @lrdjj, and some other guys have completed the game! It’s also great to see that many of you enjoyed the mechanics I’ve implemented. I was surprised to find out that there are players like @joseph-tan who made similar games.

A big thanks to @510 for the feedback! I’ve already added card descriptions to the page. I hope this helps new players or even gives you a reason to dive back into the game!(@glebsviripa, @justuspan)

Initially, I didn’t want to add too much text with descriptions and wanted to let players figure out the cards themselves, but since many of you requested it, I’ve decided to add them.

Also, @justuspan — when a card is glowing, it means it’s activated. It gets activated when you dig the ore specified on the card. And yes, it can activate multiple times depending on the rarity.

Well done with this game!
I like the feeling of digging down the mine. Solid gameplay and mechanic.
At first I didnt understand the cards, but then I read about them.

Would like the UI elements to have the same style as the rest of the game.
Great job!

Very interesting take!
I never read the game description before starting to play, as I believe a game should be able to tell me what I need to do. This game was very hard to play without reading the description/instructions.

The cards were confusing and required a lot of experimentation to figure out, and it was not a given what was happening or what effect the cards had from just the visual elements.

However, I did enjoy the style and this was a very fresh take, so if you just work on presentation in-game and make it obvious for the player what is happening, this could have been a great game.

Thank you for making this for us, I hope I see you in LDJAM 58!

The sprites are nice, and the character on the cover looks great. The sounds fit the game well.

It feels like digging diagonally is the fastest way.

The music creates a nice 8-bit atmosphere, but it gets repetitive quickly.

It's hard to understand how the boost from the cards actually works — it feels like nothing really changed in the gameplay.

@sangheli Thanks for the feedback! In order for the card boosts to work, you need to activate them first. To do that, you have to dig up the ore shown on the card. I recommend giving it a try next time and see how it goes!

Pretty addicting little game. I like the simple mechanics and especially powerups. Activating certain cards by mining certain minerals gives a pretty good depth. Initially I did not understand what cards do until I looked up the game page, but that is totally acceptable for a jam game. My only suggestion would be to be able to dig using keyboard so that it is simpler.

I enjoyed your game even if I haven't made it very far !
I get the cards and the activation process, but the allotted time is really short, and I never found the card that reverse time...
The graphics are really nice though, and it's simple but addictive mechanics. The card combo is interesting.

Cool implementation! Time flies, and throwing out old cards takes time. I would like to simplify this process. Also, the activator icons on the cards are difficult to quickly find on the level. I think if I remember the cards a little, it will be easier. But now the game kills me very quickly. In general, I like the idea of a set of necessary cards!

Very nice mechanics, maybe a little bit hard from the start : a growing difficulty or a first layer without timer could be a nice addition to grab the mechanics and understand the cards before getting into the real game :) but overall nice realization with a fun and original gameplay loop.

Wow, thats a very very solid entry. I really liked your take into a deck building game, I could totally see it being turned into a bigger game. To dig in your game is super fun and juicy, it has a really nice kind of flow to it that really made me a lot engaged with the game. Is specially nice when you hit a nice combo and start to dig it all around super fastly.

Super nice game! Keep up the good work! I really liked it a lot! :)

Yo! Still confused a bit about what the cards do (especially the tnt one) but when having the 'gold rush' and just being able to dig FAST it feels great.

Hey nice little game, it misses a little tutorial to explain how does work the cards bercause it took me a feww tries before understanding how to use them and what are they doing. Anyway the gameplay is fun but maybe we could just hold the click instead of clicking multiple times ? The cards and card combo are a good idea, the ore that you mine activating em forces you to create certain paths, that's nice =) Music is really cool and arts are cute ! Good job !=)

Really cool game, I had a lot of fun. Maybe it need a little bit more time for the pixel art to be more immersive :)
The mix between a building deck and a platformer fits really well !

Groovy little game loved the idea of the cards for the upgrades though it was hard to tell what they did, also struggled to climb back up or mine upwards - other then that did not seem to reduce the clock when I mined dimonds overall still had fun, thanks for the awesome game

Really innovative little game -- I liked it, even though the time limit seems kinda unforgiving - especially if you don't get the right cards at the beginning. Really nice idea!

Really fun beginning intro! Great work on that. I found it uniqe that the upgrades are cards that you collect. Though it does feel like time is too short. However, the digging feels pretty smooth - keep up the good work!
