Will be updating the game as soon as we finish things up! Imma link all of you once it's done :)
It was chaotic as hell as we both had a lot of work come up during the weekend, but we made it amg I need sleep and stuffs

And thank you for the sweet words about my wonky doodles ♥
I love the art, is charming.
I have 2 mayor problems with how the mechanics were implemented, that could be bugs or intended:
- You should be able to jump over an ingredient on the edge of a row and land in the next row, I kept of dying cause this behavior is counterintuitive
- Because of the slope and the separation of the floors sometimes even if I time right the ingredient hit me. This can be an skill issue, but in a really tight platformer like this one it felt odd.

I especially love the look and the sound, and the sheer simplicity. A little more variety would have been cool, of course, but that's the jam for ya...
We will certainly revise those points @paulhocker, with the rush of the jam we sort of got to a point in which we said 'this is good enough for now' but there is clearly room for improvement. Thank you ♥
I think my biggest grip is the absense of a coyote jump, or even a more floaty jump. In the old arcade games, to handle with this they used to make jumps that were a little bit more floaty and longer, so it was easier to be more precise when you jump around. But since your controls are very crispy and fast, and gravity strong, it became really hard to jump precisely in the platforms without a buffer to not fall in the edges of the platforms or while jumping over the ingredients.
All that said, I really liked a lot your little game. It is super cute, the art is full of charm, the music is super catchy and it really evoque the ancestry with the old arcade ones quite well.
Overall a really great entry! Thank you for the game! :)
I am so glad to have played this, it's so lovely and fun and cute!
PS: "died of the hungries" and all of the text in here is amazing
The platforming feels a bit unforgiving at times (I don't want to be yet another proponent of coyote time and less punishing fall damage, but I can't help myself), but I loved the art and the general vibes. Solid entry, thanks for the game!!
Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out how to get down from the upper platforms. I jumped, jumped, jumped.. Then I tried to go down after the raccoon. Bam, I lost. I tried again, but I lost again.
In general, I think that the tutorial is very lacking. There is a bug with the bird getting stuck on the very first platform when you jump over (it doesn't go back). It would also be nice to add sound settings. Yes, the sounds are good, but they are loud and get a little boring over time.
Nevertheless, I think you did a good job. Good luck with further development! Thanks for the gaming experience!
And yeah there's no tutorial, again just like Donkey Kong  We set out to make an arcade game from scratch in 72 hours, so there aren't any options, tutorials, and basically if you haven't every played an arcade game from the 80's I can see how it could be a little confusing.
We are already working with an expanded version with less punishing gameplay and more features like sound/music volume, etc.
Again we really appreciate all the time you guys spent checking out our game!
Congratulations!
And thank you so much for playing our game ♥
This was certainly done with a lot of arcade nostalgia love ♥
