This was a beautiful experience! The hand drawn art is really cute and the entire game feels really polished, like there is movement and flow to everything. The different sound effects for the characters dialog gives so much personality!

The ArtStyle is so cute. I loved it a lot. Had not the time today to play it through, but maybe later. Shifted it to my linkList of Games to review more detailed later.
Have good time.

Very nice art style and I love the sounds. How you display the text is also very well executed. I personally would have liked the text to appear a little faster.

@threegoldeneggs thank you so much! We really tried to give the game a polished feel this time, time just never seems to be in our favour haha.

@toupaks Ahaha that would be really cool! Maybe if we had another day or two but definitely something to consider for the future. Thank you :)

@romthesheep Thank you so much!! <3

Very cute and funny little underwater adventure! I enjoyed the visuals and the narrative. It's also super cool that the game encourages replays, as the main screen starts filling in with fragments from completed stories.
(Oh no, beware – there's a mimic here too!)

Aha... more games with shrimp pun titles featuring shrimp... awesome..,

The hand-drawn art is so cute! There's a lot of fun moments in all the different routes, too - this game is just bursting with charm, and I appreciate a few routes having some simple yet neat minigames to spice it up. Good job!

The dialogue is fantastic, the art is pretty, and feels pretty polished. The audio fits perfectly and the small color palette I feel adds a lot to it. Overall shrimp game is amazing.

This is an adorable and cozy game. The humour is top notch and I especially loved the colour in some of the branching dialog. Also SHRAMPPPPPPP

As always, a great entry with an even better art style and polished execution. Nothing left to be said. Fantastic job!

P.S. Go the Crab Bros or something ending., had a nice clickty clakity battle there. =D

P.P.S The LDJam link on itch.io has correct url text but wrong url - it points at you LD56 jam entry.

And eyyy, I am glad you love the Crab Bros! They were definitely one of my favourite scenes to write and draw!

That is so weird! I see what you mean, but when I try it on the other PC it doesn't happen... Will ty to fix it and thank you so much for flagging <3

Hey, that's great to hear, the Crab bros RULE!

For the link, try viewing the page in html if not by editing the link and most likely you'll find the culprit there. Happy to help.

Heads up: the fortune teller "mimic" hint looped twice in a row when I got it.

Wonderful game. Fun fish puns, cool use of sound effects and word art, and lovely variety for a choose your own adventure (simple memory puzzle, sculpture timing, randomized ending). At first, when the fortune teller said their words would change later, I thought it meant "come back after seeing all other endings" but I guess it just is randomized (which for a competition is a little rough considering how long it takes to get there). Also, my first play through, I accidentally picked the shrimp route, not on purpose, but because I was clicking to advance text and that was were the option one.
Also love on itch you changed the name of the "game type." I enjoy doing that as well!
Thanks for sharing!

It's always nice diving into another narrative-driven game. The art and music are great, and the sheer number of scenarios and endings is reel-y interesting to me, almost smells a bit fishy

Such a great narrative game! I love LOVE the art style and the dialogue was really great. The sound design was also perfect. Really wonderful game with a lot of thought and care put into it. Excellent job :D

This is probably my favorite game I've played of the jam so far but I'm a sucker for narrative games and an even bigger sucker for silly games. Really fun. Super simple (and therefore difficult to pull off well). I had a great time going for different endings and collecting the pieces (took me a second to notice them populating the start screen). In general I just thought it was very cute. The art is great. And text sounds and the animations were also great. Was this done with Ink? I'm curious about the implementation because it's REALLY solid and I always struggled with getting Unity to play nice.

Great job! Congrats on finishing and thanks for playing and leaving feedback on Deep Bat Rage!

I'm absolutely in love with your art style

So fricking cute, I love all these paths, you've got a pretty good variety of stories here! I got 9 endings, not sure how to get the other ones but it felt like enough! If anything, I'd say the vocal sounds are a bit too harsh sounding, and the text at the decisions goes a little too slow for repeat playthroughs, but honestly I just liked this one a lot despite all that! My favorite was the tax-avoidant penguin jailed in a can of spam, I'm sure he's got a whole story!

Lots going well in this little adventure story. Art was excellent. Stories were interesting, if a teeny bit short and/or unpredictable. But that is my memory of choose-your-adventure books as a kid.

My one piece of feedback would be to allow for instantly displaying text, especially the starting text that you have read everytime. Clicking does seem to speed it up a bit, but I was a little annoyed by the friction of waiting for the typewriter effect to end. Typewriter text is always a little bit of a one-size-fits-all gamble because people read at different speeds, and the constant sound as it displays can start to grate (at least for me).

so cute! i had a really fun time with this, super fun characters, silly game that just made me smile! my favorite parts were the unique little interactable moments, like carving the stone with the shrimp, would love more of those! nice work :)

Great game! The art is fantastic, I loved the animations you did with the fill, it really made the scenes feel alive. The text scroll was very cute as well, I enjoyed the few text effects I saw as well (like the Ha Ha Ha). The "minigames" you had were also pretty fun, I would've liked to see those in all the story paths.

One thing that I think could improve this game is adding diegetic sound effects and music. When the story told me there were different sounds I would've loved to hear them and think it would elevate the experience a lot.

Very solid entry though, great work!

Absolutely love the vibe, style and humor here. The little moustache when creating the masterpiece. Also cannot believe you would put a rock mimic right at the start!!! Overall very nice experience, great job!
