Pay The Ferryman

Play as a diver who has faced an unfortunate accident at sea and must journey to pay Charon, The Ferryman and cross The River Styx. Adventure deep down into the depths to find the passage leading you to your destination in this 2D pixel-art platformer.

An ancient tale is whispered about the liminal space between life

and death. A river runs deep and unyielding

waiting for the departed to cross and separate themselves from the living,

lest they remain as lost souls. The journey across these waters is not free,

A toll must be paid.

A single coin.

One must pay the ferryman, so that he gets you to the other side.

Really nice concept and I really enjoyed the music/sound design and art. Got stuck in certain parts of the maps in the corners where horizontal and vertical walls meet. Aside from the minor bug it's solid. Good work, guys!

I was very pleasently surprised by the game intro with voice over, it helps a lot to set the tone of the game!

The enemy hitboxes aren't very clear, as I sometimes got hit even when I wasn't touching them.
Also, it would be nice to have a quicker way to restart the level, without the full camera overview each time.

accidentally called the map display mode several times on the first two levels and had to wait until it ended without the ability to interrupt, and on the last level the mode did not start at all. I liked the game, although this is not exactly my genre, but it was not as difficult as it could have been, thanks for that)

Love the setting and the graphic audio in the beginning and end of the Game. I also got Stuck in corners and the hit box of the shark was really mean :D I wish the background music from the opening sequence would have stayed in the level. It was so quiet deep down in the sea!

Good Job!

Nice voices and music. a few bugs here and there that made me restart
Maybe the levels are a little to long and I got stuck n a room with a shark
For a game jam, you may want to keep the levels small and effective
Overall I had a good time, thanks for that !

I got stuck a few time while navigating the level (i think I should have died but it didn't kill me). Really liked the setting and the narrator from the beginning! Good job
