Super tough hitboxes and very short gun range make it a hard one to get through.
Well done!
Rest In Pieces, the loving crab couple...
So, overall, a biiiiit more casual mode for not-so-great players like me would be appreciated, like checkpoints, more-than-1-health and less input lag.
Well done!
The character looks amazing! I love the animations, they look so smooth!
The game itself is a bit too hard. I wish the camera wouldn't be always centered on the character and instead could be moved with mouse, so you can see what's below. Right now if I jump down and don't know what's there, I can't really jump on reaction when there is a crab (skill issue haha). Also, it would be nice to recharge double jump after hitting a crab (so you can chain jump on crabs :D)
Overall, congrats with your entry! It's really good considering that you've done it solo!
Jokes aside, it was dying so many times. xD
The idea is so so so simple, but is quite well executed. I liked some of the ideas for the level design, and the idea of using the double jump as the weapon is quite clever! There's a lot of juice on it too, which made the gameplay have a really pleasant flow.
I loved the pixel art and the amount of secondary motion you put into the animation, it created a lot of character for the girl, super charming!
I wish the hitboxes were just a tiny bit smaller, tho. Sometimes i died just when I was shooting them and it broke a lil bit the flow gave by the fast motion.
Overal a really super funny entry, I loved the art and the overall vibe. Really great entry, thank you for the little game! :)
This is my first time participating in a Ludum Dare jam alone. At the beginning, I spent a long time creating the sprite art to escape from the programming part, which I'm not very good at lol.
The character is a sea slug girl designed by my friend @haogege. I’ve wanted to create something for her for a long time, and when I realized that the theme "depths" could relate to the deep sea, I decided to make this character the protagonist.
The fire double jump is laggy because there were some frames where the weapon was pulled out before the fire. I shortened the lag and got adjusted to it during development, but I underestimated how much this made the game challenging for new players.
I have uploaded a link to a **post-jam** version where in response to your feedbacks I added some sounds and made changes to the controls and the death effect. I’d love to hear your feedback, so please give it a try if you’d like! :3
Very nice game! Crabs and main chibi-girl are adorable! I wanna destroy some more smoking crabs and crabs in love! Destroooooy!
Thanks ^_^
