Magnético by Yoav Kagan
Magnético
A game about treasure, magnets, and very pressing debts.
In Magnético, you play as a down-on-his-luck magnet fisherman trying to pay off a hefty debt to the cartel. With only 3 days to scavenge $500 from the murky rivers of Mexico, you’ll need luck, precision, and a sharp eye for detail.
Toss your magnet into the water in search of ancient Aztec treasures—but beware! Some finds are authentic artifacts, others are cheap souvenirs, or worse—convincing fakes. You’ll have to carefully inspect each item before deciding to cash it in…
📖Use the Guidebook
Not everything that shines is gold—check your Guidebook to spot fakes.
Compare symbols and details to decide what’s real.
Can you survive the week, or will the cartel come collecting?
Play in browser!
⚠️ Note
- Web build had some issues, for a better fishing experience we recommend playing the Windows build — sorry!
- Also… we had to rush the ending for the deadline, so there's no quit button 😅
(Alt+F4 works great though.) - Game doesn't work properly on wide screen.
✅ Post-Jam Fixes
- Added a Quit button (finally!)
- Made transitions faster and smoother
- Fixed losing music (was incorrectly playing winning music before)

🎨🎵 Original Art & Music
All of the art and music in Magnético were created by us for the jam.
It was all made with love (and some panic) during the jam.
🎮 Gameplay
- Fish for hidden relics with your trusty magnet
- Inspect items for clues of authenticity
- Decide what’s real and what’s junk
- Sell treasures to build your fortune… or fall short
- You have 3 days. No second chances.
🕹 Controls
- Mouse only
- Hold left click to throw the magnet and fish

Oh yea and the game is fun! Awesome music/art
I can't believe how much work could be done in such a small time frame.
Guess the price mechanic is nice though.
Idk if it is a bug or the behaviour is intended but in the after-fishing screen you can assign prices
indefinitly for all items one by one in a loop.
Transaction reports could be somewhat quickier. Also price is just randomly chosen so I see no point
investing so much time spent into guessing. (I could be mistaken)
This game feels polished as hell, no bugs found, the graphics and sounds are top notch. Great job!
UPD: shit, I only figured out transaction reports now after publishing this comment. This is awesome actually!
But overall a great game that deserves being expanded.
You did amazing, thank you for your hard work.
The graphics look awesome. They hae a realy nice tone and pallet and the animations are great. The overall gameplay loop is great. I liked the combination of collecting treasure with the mechanic from Stardew Valley and then inspecting them Papers Please style! Some random ideas for improvements: I wasn't sure what impact throwing strength had, if any at all. Are the larger treasures farther out? Also I was not sure when a treasure counted as caught. Did I have to stay in the red/green zone for some time or be there at a certain point in time? Switching back and forth between the view of the treasures and the drawing was a bit annoying, but it still felt like an important mechanic. It might work to make the indicators for fakes even more subtle and show the drawing besides them. If the indicators are subtle enough, you might even get rid of the time limit and derive the excitement completely out of the uncertainty of the player. Maybe even give them information that is partly unreliable or distributed (stained drawing + verbal statements from experts).
In any case, the game is a really solid LD entry. I would like to see a follow-up version :) Great work!
Thanks so much for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!
The further you throw, the higher your chances of finding better treasures. We had plans to visualize this in the UI, but ran out of time—same goes for the fishing mini-game visuals. Hopefully we can polish those up in a future post-jam version!
Thanks for making it!
Beautiful art and beautiful music (very Mexican indeed)
The colors were very well chosen. The story, although terrifying, was well chosen. Let us know when the game is finished.
Congratulations!
