Deepdiving by Keeta

made by Keeta for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

A time-attack style platforming game where you cannot touch the ground or you die. Inhabit the body of a wingsuiting madman wingsuiting through caves for a cheap thrill.

Not embedded here because the SHIFT key wasn't working in game.

This was my first time participating in a game jam, and my first ever game published. Everything here is made by myself from scratch over the course of the jam. Although it was tiring, I had a blast doing this. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's submissions as well!

The level design is great. It looks like the game was inspired by Celeste in game mechanics. The sounds and music are excellent. The difficulty is a bit high. The dash was a bit confusing about when it refreshed midair without the collecting a dash refill. Overall it is very fun to play.

Really fun and challenging platformer! Gliding does feel a bit strange sometimes but i overall really like it

Looks stylish, music and sounds are pleasant and it has difficulty progression. Well done!

congratulations, as a Celeste fan, I had a lot of fun with your game... Some parts are a little difficult at the beginning, maybe there should be a better difficulty progression to better understand the game at the beginning... but still, I really liked the controls and the level design

This was actually really fun! Thank you for the generous checkpoints :)

I liked the music and art even tough the textures felt a bit too consistent. It usually took me a few tries to get through a section so I was grateful for all the checkpoints.

Couldn't get past the dash section though.

What a great game! I honestly loved it. The way the mechanics interact with each other and how they tie into the theme is really impressive. If I had to suggest one thing, it would be to slightly adjust the difficulty curve. For instance, at the first red barrier where I have access to the dash, there's a noticeable spike in difficulty, it requires gliding, dashing, and gliding again to reach the wall. That section feels like quite a jump compared to what came before, but of course, that's just my personal opinion. That said, I just want to congratulate you, amazing work, truly a great game!

Awesome game and it's quite challenging. Very fun I have to say and the gliding feels super smooth. However the dashing feels a bit weird and the character seems to sometimes dash in the wrong direction. Overall all though I really enjoyed and this is a great entry!

Very fun game, a bit harsh on difficulty but not too much, it gives a fun challenge.

This was super impressive! Controls were delightful, though being able to use a controller would go a long way. I could absolutely see this as a full length game if you kept working on it! Here's my full playthrough:

![Снимок экрана 2025-04-10 013356.png](///raw/248/43/z/6bd0c.png) implemented very cool!
like a real experience of playing i wanna be the boshy, only for game journalists, i like very much the realization, and the minimalism of the execution, coolly made indication of the cloak, only thing i would like some cooler music, i while playing put myself in the background all kinds of different music, it improved the game well

Really cool! I'm unfortunately pretty bad at these games so I didn't get past the tutorial (couldn't quite turn fast enough for the dash tutorial) but I enjoyed what I got to play. Controls felt good, nice graphics, solid idea and setting for the theme too.

Good looking, challenging, and polished looking game. I enjoyed navigating the obstacle course. It can be rather difficult and frustrating at times though. I did not quite seem in control of the dash direction, which was the most frustrating. But otherwise congrats on a good game!

When I saw "SHIFT wasn't working" I immediately thought "Oh, they're using Godot like we are." Know you are in good(?) company on that one.

I can appreciate the good design without being able to play it. The close restart points were good (I've complained about far respawns a couple times this LD.)

I cannot figure out how to make it past the DASH part of the tutorial though.

Nice character controller, animations, enjoyed playing! After the moment where you have to break the crystal dash down I came across a spike in difficulty for myself and couldn't go any further, wanted to play more :)

Nice game and great introduction into the implemented mechanics. It would shine with more levels and game controller support (and maybe a death counter?).

Couldn't make it through level 2, but that's just a skill issue I think. Very simple but well made game, and it's great work for a first time participation! I did get frustrated over the fact you have to press and hold spacebar everytime you jump off of a wall, would have preffered if you kept gliding regardless, as long as spacebar is being held. Great work!

@mateusboga Thanks for the feedback! If you're holding space, it will put you into a glide automatically when you jump off a wall (by pressing the opposite direction). If you reach the bottom of the wall though, you'll just go into a normal fall regardless of what you're holding. I'm fixing that for the next version of the game. I think that is the case you're referring to at least.

Really liked the graphics and sounds! had fun getting to grips with the mechanics, unfortunately couldn't get past the dash part, but overall good fun!

Minimalistic game, but with very nuanced mechanics and pretty challenging!

One thing that I couldn't appreciate is the bouncing from the wall. It didn't feel right whenever it happened and at first I thought it was a bug. I wish you retained the freedom of control while gliding.

Well done!
