ABOUT

A surreal survival horror game about schizoprenic audiophile man trapped inside a mansion that purges his soul inside labyrinth where he needs to find a way out by the help of the "Audio" to find clue. Play as the man with the ludum dare 57 theme of "Depths" which were integrated with the game as "Mental Depths". Why? Because it's dark, it's spooky, and every 30 seconds, your mental is deteriorate over time until you the world become so absurd that the maze will make you "Detourned" for good...

Short dev note

Made with Godot 4.4 Actually it's not like 100% finish as I don't have the time (due to my actual professional job as frontend web dev) It's 3D with "Programmer Art" as they might say.

The audio is from pixabay free for non-commercial use (as I don't have time to compose my own) The 3D assets is all created from scratch with total of 49 logged working hours for SOLO JAM.

An interesting game with distortion — it's both unsettling and mesmerizing at the same time. It creates images and silhouettes in your mind, but it also made me feel a bit unwell. I couldn’t finish it, but I did find the master key, and the voice genuinely scared me the first time — though after that, it stopped being scary.

This is okay, the distortion getting slowly worse is pretty effective and the backrooms-esque decor makes you scared to turn back. The sound got me the first time, then quickly became really repetitive, and I tried to follow the sound of the music (I think that's what I was supposed to do?) but I didn't find any way to progress, even with the master key and the notes.

Good atmosphere and idea, but it lacks a bit of variety and level design overall

I like the effect, but it made me really dizzy, I couldn't play for too long... I managed to get the master key but I was already too dizzy to keep playing.

Also what is up with that audio cue? The first time it really scared me because its really loud. After that, it just got kinda annoying. I get it's an audio cue, but what is it's purpose?

It would be great if you could find some pills or anything to reduce the madness effect.
I liked the atmosphere, the music fits nicely with the aesthetic

I liked it. Although I didn't beat it (only got to as far as the master key), I saw your gameplay beating the game. I would have probably toned down the distortion. Does it go up every time you hear a jumpscare sound? Anyways, good work!

So creepy! I got the master key, but got stuck after that, as I couldn't tell anything from what I was seeing! Which was the goal, I guess. But I also couldn't really figure out where to go with audio cues, and I think I kept getting stuck in corners. Also, I think I saw the final door through two windows next to each-other, and there may have been a door I was supposed to open and get through to that room, but I couldn't figure out how to go through the door after opening it. Or, I did and was completely unaware! Very cool atmosphere. Very immersive. I love the distortion effect.
