  • Unique Cat Characters: Each with special powers that change how you play
  • Risk vs Reward: Push your luck or play it safe - the choice is yours
  • Corporate Cat Theme: A fresh take on corporate life with feline flair

Theme Connection

The "Depth" theme is reflected in multiple layers of gameplay:

  • Negotiation Depth: Each decision takes you deeper into corporate intrigue
  • Risk Depth: The deeper you push your luck, the higher the stakes
  • Cash Depth: The cat with the deepest stack of cash wins
  • Strategic Depth: Multiple layers of decision-making in each turn

How deep are you willing to go for that budget? Will you stay in the shallows of safety and inch ahead of your rival, or dive deep for a massive payoff?

Development Notes

Created in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 57, DEEP MEOWGOTIATIONS combines strategic depth with feline corporate chaos. The game was inspired by the tension of corporate budget meetings and my love for cats who think they own the world.

Creative Notes: I'm a game jam veteran and recently turned AI Maximalist. This was my first AI Maximalist jam game, and also my first solo LDJam. I used AI for literally everything I possibly could, except for creative direction, creative vision, and seed concepts. Later I will be publishing a YouTube video with my learnings from this experiment. Follow me if you are interested to watch it. TL:DR insight... AI isn't going to take our game dev jobs, definitely not yet and probably not ever.

The polish in this is phenomenal, the art is super clean and altogether this feels like a fully complete experience. The core mechanic is a little bland and doesn't leave a ton of room for strategy, but the anticipation of waiting to see what the next card would be was still fun. The cats' designs were great, and I loved all the pun names.

@coyotethursday Thanks for the kind words!

Yes, the core mechanic is designed to be casual-player and children friendly. It's not a veteran-gamer mechanic.

You're supposed to disclose using AI for art...

You should have mentioned that you use AI in the game development. The gameplay loop didn't hooked me.

I wholeheartedly agree here. The game feels polished, the fact you went with cats was a stroke of genius that made it just exude charisma. Card games are wildly underrated, this is fun and engaging and quite frankly even if I am a dog person, just plain adorable!

Nice game, but I would have liked to understand better how the game works, it felt a bit random whether I should continue or not.

I liked the mood of the game, but I would like it to be more clear how the deck works, otherwise it is not clear when you lose, is it purely because of randomness, or are there some rules that need to be followed

@imnotvegan That's good feedback. I want to iterate on the clarity.

Yes. It is pure randomness. There are no special rules for the deck and drawing. It's a standard-sized card deck, and the boss Snaps get shuffled in whenever the Boss feels that too much budget is being spent.
