The matching deep

A roguelike match 3 game where you need to battle monsters and explore the depths to save your village from an Ettin

Base gameplay done, a lot of extra things planned but they were nice to haves.

The match 3 board has unused tiles (mana) that would serve for special attack however the special attack did not make it.

Also this version lets you free what you want to move so you can plan ahead, moves don't need to make a match however be careful the enemies wont let you procrastinate

Nice entry. I can clearly see what you were going for. I'm a sucker for match-3 games so these types of adventure really tickle my fancy. However, I think it might need more work to make it clear what you can or can't do. I'm not sure if it was a glitch or not, but sometimes the piece wouldn't swap positions and I'd lose a move as well, making it a bit hard to follow what was going on. Also, in spite of the music's upswing beat, the loop feels just a bit too short and repetitive, fine for a jam though. Thanks for making this!

Nice compo entry. Handy intro with tutorial, and graph of levels. ![match.png](///raw/24e/f3/z/6c236.png) What I would suggest is 1) separate states of game, so worldmap not scroll while at tutorial, and dont allow gameplay during enemy turn. Also hp of big monster showed 10 (carriover from goblin) and switched to 40 after first damage 2) work with tilemap and not separate objects. At some points I was able to drag several pieces, place them over and out of playfield etc.
Nice touch with Hades-like choice of 3 cards. Extra turn and armor very useful.
I see that you planned for more items, now its somewhat difficult because ran out of swords on playfield fast.
Keep up good work!

Solid entry! I did run into some glitches here and there are though, which sometimes ended me up with two items in one space, unless that was intentional of cause.
