audio is quite annoying, but rapid fire triple shot feels amazing

Such a cute arcade-style game! Very simple but fun! I wish I had faster gunfire or more space to attack the baddies, so many get away and I want the power-ups!

Nice arcade shooter would be great with a few more enemy types, great work overall.

Nice little SHMUP you made there! I enjoyed it a lot. A little bit more variety and more noticeably stacking upgrades would only add to the experience! Kudos!

I really liked it, excellent plot, I think it just needed to give more emphasis when the player dies, maybe explode and reappear. I missed animations and music. The graphics and sounds match.

@raynorr huh... well I know it'll work on Chrome if you happen to have that... firefox might be having an issue with the sounds based on how much is loaded.

I had a lot of fun with this and will be playing it again. The music was a little too quiet to the point where I wondered if I was hearing things, but otherwise it was great. Great feel, amazing graphics, and clear controls.

When the SFX are in a loop, they can get a bit boring. Maybe punch or shake type effects could have been added for damage taking. Other than that, I liked it.

When you have rapidly repeating sounds (the shots), it can help a lot to vary the pitch randomly, even just up and down by 10%. Try it out and see if you like that more. Otherwise nice entry!

Well made game, worked without issue! I liked the back and forth of getting stronger, growing more confident, then messing up and having to play safe for a while until I get get upgrades again. If I had a point of feedback, it would be that the sound of the bullets gets to be kinda weird when you are shooting 3+ at a time - because they are all the same pitch and start at the same time, the waveforms overlay on top of each other causing some weird phasing issues.

To address that, you could randomize the pitch of the bullet sound each time it plays, something like +/- 10%. If you wanted to take that a step further, you could have 3-4 different bullet sounds and pick one at random each time a bullet is spawned. Combining the random sounds with the randomized pitch would have a massive impact.

Either way, great work on this one!

Hey we had a great time playing your game on stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2427848024?t=2h48m17s

I love @floppynub's idea for the sounds, but to be honest it didn't really bother me at all.

I really loved the ticker at the top of the screen, thought that was so cool.

Very fun game with great art. I just wish there were more upgrades.

Cool game. Sadly not quite well balanced, the ennemies take way too long to get killed which make them swarm the screen pretty quickly. As mentioned before the sound design isn't perfect but I appreciate that you found the time to include some, it makes the game feels whole. Well done !

Also I love the little screen on top, it really adds to the arcade feel, reminds me of pinball, its a lovely touch.

The game reloaded due to high memory usage, but it was a really fun experience! Especially toward the late game when I collected a bunch of power-ups — the feeling of triple-shot rapid fire was incredibly satisfying. Such an enjoyable game, thank you!

A solid shooter but poorly balanced. Its hard to even kill anything with the starter weapon but with the rate of fire powerup, suddenly you can easily wipe the screen and you can keep that up indefinitely with the shower of upgrades.
Diagonal movement with the arrow keys seems to be broken.
I didn't actually notice the rocket counter at the bottom for a long time.
I stopped after racking up 31380 points as the level didn't seem to be changing any more. I'm guessing the final stage just loops.

@someone you're correct, after lvl 16 the game goes into "high score mode" to see how long you can last... I've rarely heard of anyone getting as high as you did, nice job :)

he game is technically well executed, nice audio and visuals. The idea is not original, but it is well executed.

@ronalchue thanks! yeah we had an even tighter schedule for this dare because of other obligations over the weekend so we opted for a super simple gameplay mechanic.

Good game, but (at least in my option) not that challanging. Maybe some more diffucult enemies would improve this.

The art is cute, I really like the ship design! I did find the sounds a bit annoying after a while, but the powerups feel so nice. I wish it was a bit faster overall, but once things go going it was fun!
Well done!
